If this is you, where something is stopping you from sitting right on top of your pelvis in this position-maybe something is pulling/stretching, your lower abdominals or hip flexors are on fire, or you just feel ‘stuck’- then that ‘thing’ is likely binding up your lower back- causing back pain or threatening to in the future. You deserve to feel comfortable in your body!

Lot of different things can contribute to this problem, which is where Pilates comes in. We focus on spine health, which means targeted strength and mobility techniques that consider the spine in the context of the whole body. (eg: I have a client whose calves were so tight they were causing the picture above. Luckily I was able to help ID the issue and provide the programming needed for him to live life as a happy duck 🦆)

So if this picture is you. Give it a try! Good Pilates training means no militant pushing. No red lining. No excessive focus on any one area. Just methodical, targeted, and precise exercises followed by gentle stretching and mobility.

Our September Ballet program wrapped last week. Proud doesn’t begin to describe. Everyone made tremendous progress and I hope y’all feel the pride I do! I can’t wait to get going for October.

Photographic evidence that Pilates can be fun. 😁 in perfect honesty I don’t always have fun DOING Pilates. But I DO always feel incredible as a result of it. And it’s made my quality of life 100% better. My students (including here) say the same!
