A great finish to the season for the U15(1) team. On a trip to the west last weekend they succeeded in winning both matches against Galway Titans and ClareGalway. Congratulations to the ladies for a super Saturday.
And thank you to both teams for the challenge

Everyone connected with Meteors Basketball Club is deeply saddened and shocked by
the untimely passing of one of our long-serving members, Eamonn Prenter.
As both a parent and a coach, Eamonn was a tremendous presence within the club and
a passionate advocate for Meteors, as well as for women’s basketball in general. His
dedication and enthusiasm left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of
knowing and working with him.
Eamonn coached during the 2022–23 and 2023–24 seasons, where he played a pivotal
role in developing many of our players, instilling in them not only his exceptional
knowledge of the game, but also his unwavering commitment and passion for
basketball. A particular highlight of his time as a coach was leading the team to
Lanzarote, providing players with the invaluable opportunity to compete against local
teams and experience international basketball.
His three daughters have been a constant and valued presence within the club over
many years, proudly representing Meteors at every age group, including at Super League
level, a testament to the family’s deep connection to the club.
Eamonn was a great friend and confidant to many, always generous with his time,
advice, and his encyclopaedic knowledge of basketball.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Ailsa; his daughters, Grace, Isabelle, and
Alexandra; his son, Nicholas; and his extended family and friends at this profoundly
difficult time.
