Seriously people, don't do things to your body for a quick fix. It WILL f**k you up..

Right, I had an experience last night while browsing the aul FB that I'd really like to share.

I stumbled across a page advertising a product called, "Secret Diet Drops." At once I was intrigued.

The product claimed to make the weight just fall off you and all you have to do is take them before and after meals. And amazingly once you come off the drops the weight stays off too. I was enthralled.

So I went to their site and found two interesting things. Firstly, there is a very restricted calorie diet plan that is guaranteed to result in malnutrition in all but the most petite users, who probably would not want this product.

The second interesting thing I found was the ingredients of the drops. To their credit it's a smart business plan. Basically, it's a massive metabolism booster. So instead of everything slowing down in your body as would usually happen on starvation diets the drops keep you ticking over at your regular metabolic rate.

This does result in you being able to lose weight on this system.

Now I am not advertising or advocating this system. I AM CONDEMNING IT. I need that to be clear.

There is a trade off. In exchange for easy weight lose you also get POOR BONE DENSITY, MUSCLE DEGENERATION, EXTRA STRAIN ON YOUR LIVER, MALNOURISHMENT, LOW ENERGY and ALL YOUR ORGANS HAVING TO WORK OVER TIME.

Is that a trade off you're happy with? I'm cool with sacrificing my health and substantially shortening your life span and deteriorating my quality of life just to be skinny? I can't agree.

So anyway the point: If you come across a similar product that seems too good to be true, it probably is. But if you have doubts please link me and I'll try and explain what it does to your insides.

Peace and in the interests of health.

So for everyone in the world that is aware of their health, not necessarily actively engaged in their health but aware that they have an influence over it; there is a formula.

You make the formula fit your general life equation. If the equation balances, you get results. If you find that you are not getting the results you want, within no more than six weeks, then you need change the formula.

I see people toil away and get unbearably frustrated with no seeing the results they want. Why do they fail? generally, ill-motivation or misinformation.

People often take on regimes that have incomplete formula or a generally bad formula which is gonna equal frustration.

What I'm getting at here is two points: You will get amazing results if you can find the right formula AND be very wary of health myths and legends.

Mistakes people make with they're formula can be any of the following or any combination of them:
over-eating
under-eating
under-training
over-training
Not getting enough rest
poor eating habits.

Get in touch for details, and peace out

Yo to one and all, and apologies for the radio silence lately.

Just wanted to talk about an interesting training method for anyone looking for strength and size. Or rather enduring strength and size. My next post will taking a closer look at fitness goals and rationales behind them along with my personal views on the matter.

The method is German Volume Training. In short, it's 10 sets of 10, 1 exercise per body part. If I'm being honest, I haven't tried it yet, due to a wrist injury I'm recovering from but the concept really interests me. I imagine there would be a serious shock to the system the first couple of times you trained with this method.

Here are some links with more info for anyone interested in giving it a go.

Let me know if you try this and how you got on, happy lifting

What's new health conscious peeps?

So here's something interesting. We'd all be pretty familiar with the whole "5-a-Day" concept. For those of you who do not know, most government and health bodies recommend that we get five portions of fruit and veg a day. If there's anyone reading this who does not regularly reach that number, then stop here. Make that your mission over the next few months. You'll definitely see the health benefits.

For those who would be confident that they do eat their five portions: That is just the beginning.

The 5-a-day concept is great as a start point but the truth is that we all should aim for 7-15 portions of fruit and veg a day. It is ideal that most of these are veg with approximately 2-4 of those portions being fruit. Yep, that is quite a number.

Vegetables, in general, are packed full of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and they're a great source of soluble and insoluble dietary fiber. As well as that, studies have shown that a high vegetable diet reduces the risk of certain cancers, chronic diseases, heart conditions and many other conditions. Their health benefits literally go on and on.

As an added bonus, they more veg you eat the less room you'll have for other grainy carbohydrates which play a big role in western obesity.

My next post will be about some convenient to meet that goal while living busy lives.

What's new health lovers?

I want to share another awesome breakfast idea with you: Grain Free Granola. There is a set recipe for this but I found it was costly and did not yield enough of the good stuff for me to be able to afford it.

So now I basically get as many nuts and seeds (walnuts, macadamias, pecans, hazelnuts, almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds etc etc. The list goes on) as I can get, whatever's lying around really or anything you like. mix em in a processor (or just buy chopped nuts to save the hassle). Then add cinnamon, vanilla essence, the rind of half and orange, the juice of half an orange and roughly 2 cups of natural peanut butter that has been mixed with 1 tablespoon of honey.

Stir the lot, place in baking trays with grease proof paper, then bake at about 160 degrees for about 20 minutes or until golden. Stir them occasionally.

One thing I'll say is that for anyone still watching calories, this is high calorie so calculate how much is in your mix and per serving and just watch the portions. For anyone looking to build, this also awesome. A nice, energy packed alternative to porridge.
