Was gifted some really good chess books at Christmas.

Looking forward to teaching some new strategies this year.

Many of our students are complete beginners with very little chess experience. We always start off with mini-games and they catch on really quickly.

Other students are more competitive, have competed in competitions and are eager to learn new strategies and ways to get better.

Whether they’re there to compete or not we always have fun, we always promote good sportsmanship, we always begin our games with a hand shake, a “best of luck” and finish with a “good game.” 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

New term began today - what a great class! We played lots of mini-games including Capture the Treasure and The Fox & The Chickens. We brought the tactics we learned into our full games too 🚀 The students also learned about essential chess etiquette! Looking forward to next week already. The children were amazing! #chess #chessboard
