What makes you happy?

Happiness is an attitude, it happens inside-out and not outside-in.

There is no magical formula rather it is understanding what you have inside and be grateful for it. Status, wealth, power will not guarantee happiness meaning that often it is the simple things that make us truly happy. Homemade coffee in your special glass, meeting a friend for lunch, a hug from a loved one, being back training after being locked away after a pandemic.

Happiness comes from you not to you. Therefore you make your own happiness. George Gissing wrote : "I have the happiness of the passing moment, and what more can a mortal ask?" Indeed the importance of being consistently present in the journey to your ultimate goals and aspirations is fundamental to the enjoyment of that journey. This is a core element of the mindfulness popularity. Enjoy each moment but be present and mentally aware of every small thing that makes you happy.

Approximately 40,000 people were once asked what your main goal in life is? Over 38,000 listed that "happiness" was one of their goals. The next question was "Can you define happiness?" Research then found out that only 1% had sat down and worked out what happiness meant for them.

I did this with my wife? She named happiness as one of her main goals. I asked what this looked like each day and she said if she was given time to read alone in peace and quiet for 1 hour every day. Now we have "Mummy Time" in my house. It is quantified and scheduled into the day.

My Happiness is to help others be happier through my work. I coach athletes and help them develop their mental strengths so they are confident. I introduce a culture of aspirations and self belief in teams with positive structure language and watch team relationships evolve.

My personal happiness goal consists of being the best dad and husband by being in the moment, hugging my family and creating smiles.

Happiness is an attitude it happens inside-out and not outside-in.

1440 Run Challenge⁠

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈAs Strength and Conditioning coach the guys wanted to do some great charity work during these difficult times and so we designed the 1440 run challenge. ⁠
60 Players will run 6 miles (1 mile every hour) for 4 days =24 miles (a marathon) 24 x 60 = 1440. ⁠

Quick Bronco Fitness Test for this lot before the Courts get full. 😁 😈

Test retest. We do this once every 6 weeks to ensure our anaerobic fitness levels are where they need to be.

I promised them a fun game after so they gave me their best effort and true scores.

Redirect the question to a controllable question, Did you work on your passing, how was your follow up chase, Did you communicated with your team mates through out the game?

Goals are preorganised and controllable actions developed between the coach and player.

This mixed with the inner desire to practice to the BEST of their athletes abilities every day results in improvements. This then results in match day positive performance.

When i train with my team or athletes i will randomly ask them was that a 10? The idea being that on a scale of 1 - 10 ( 1 being bad, 10 being absolute best effort) did they give me their best, a 10.

-If i think it is not a 10, i then ask them would they like to do it again? If they care they will say yes. (they are taking control)

-Now they need guidance: My question to them is: What will we focus on to improve from the previous effort? They give their answer. I agree and give constructive feedback and assurance as to the quality of their answer.

-Now im just a confidence buffer before they do the practise. Show me what you got, you can be brilliant, lets go......

As a head Strength and Conditioning coach in Wesley College, I am now offering Semi-Private Personal Training in their brand new premier training facility.
This facility will be available on Monday & Wednesday evening at 6-7pm.
You can train once a week or on both days. Packages for both. (DM for more info or call 0876341861) I have been contacted before i posted this about training here and availability is limited to first come first served.

This will not be class based training. I will design a personalised program for you based on your needs. For example i can develop programs based on, Rehabilitation from an injury, Sport specific, weight loss or general strength development to name a few.

Contact me today. Training starts on the 17th of Feb and all training last for a term of 6 weeks. (Train for 6 weeks once a week or twice a week for 12 sessions)

You can optionally be tested at the beginning and end of term in either body composition (fat loss and lean muscle development), jump testing, endurance testing and strength testing.
