Nothing beats a good dynamic warm up that ticks multiple boxes โ€˜mobility wiseโ€™ and gives that needed 5-10 mins to mentally switch on and get the head focused for the tasks/exercises ahead.

I doesnโ€™t need to be complicated but I certainly does need to happen!

Today we want to have a look at how stress can impact the digestive system and what you can do to minimise itโ€™s impact.

In part one of this short series on โ€˜stressโ€™ I want to introduce you to the concept of ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ต๐˜‚๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€ ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ฒ.

Once we know a little bit about our stress response and our โ€˜Fight or flightโ€™ mode we can then move on to how itโ€™s long term or โ€˜overuseโ€™ can lead to adverse health effect and decrease gut function etc.

And finally how we can do our best to avoid getting over stressed and strategies that we can use to relax the body prior to eating and sleeping for example as well as the benefits of having a little more parasympathetic tone throughout your days

This is a new favorite of mine and a homerun for everything adductors! Often forgotten when it comes to โ€˜hip healthโ€™ or mobility but certainly not when it comes to clients I work with!

We take care to implement some Mobility/ activation work prior to sessions! A few minutes prior to each sessions and your body will thank you for it!
#
This exercise has plenty of options for progressing or regressing so thereโ€™s no excuse for not getting some isolation for your adductors.

I personally donโ€™t think anybody needs to do an RDL / Hip hinge on day one!

Honestly itโ€™s awkward to teach and if the client is not getting it at all you run the risk of overwhelming them, getting flustered and self conscious all because you decided to teach an exercise that could most definitely have waited a few weeks.

Not doing them on day one doesnโ€™t mean you have to start WORKING TOWARDS THEM FROM DAY ONE.

Sprinkling in a few RDL โ€˜patternsโ€™ during your warm ups will clear up a lot of issues before the day comes when they have that barbell in their hands.

Make life easy for the client! Make life easier for yourself by planning ahead. NOBODY NEEDS TO DO ANY ONE EXERCISE ON DAY ONE!

Make them comfortable, set a good tone & donโ€™t embarrass them!

FYI I am also not a fan of putting a dowel on someoneโ€™s back to teach them how to hinge ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ *just saying.

Are you using the right tools for the job?

Throughout our semi private training sessions we use a wide variety of tools and exercises that will get the most bang for your buck during your training sessions here!

WE KNOW WHAT WORKS AND WHAT DOESNโ€™T!

When it comes to developing your back muscles - some tools are certainly more useful than others. Thats why we use are cable machines and the newly purchased attachments seen in picture one.

When it comes developing your backside - we know that the hip thrust can reign supreme here. That is why you will do the and OFTEN! Our handy hip thrust rack inserts seen in pictures two ensure we can easily programme these into your sessions.

We are big on cardio vascular fitness here! We like to meet you where you are JUDGEMENT FREE and devise a manageable program to get you where you want to be! If the Rower isint for you, I am sure the Ski Erg well! And if that doesnโ€™t suit we have the bikes as well ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

The most important thing about training is ENJOEYMENTโ€™! As this will ultimately keep you turning up...but what can be even better is ENJOYMENT & RESULTS.

This is why well structured sessions with good quality coaches & planned variations in programming and exercises over time are so important.
