"I come to you with only Karate, empty hands. Ed Par 🥋♥️🥋

I have no weapons, but should I be forced to defend myself, my principles or my honor, should it be a matter of life or death of right or wrong; then here are my weapons, Karate, my empty hands."

Karate consists of three pillars: Kihon, Kata, and Kumite.

Foundational training for the techniques practiced

KIHON

Kihon means "basic." In karate, these basic techniques consist of punches, kicks, blocks, and stances. Continuous practice of these techniques creates a strong foundation for our Karate. Perfecting basic techniques

is the core of our training. Kihon is the vocabulary of karate,

directly developing techniques.

KATA

Kata means "form." Kata is a predetermined sequence of movements that represents a stylized fight against an imaginary opponent. Kata training encompasses elements of direction, technique, speed, power, and rhythm. By practicing kata, the movement patterns used in kumite, or self-defense, are memorized.

Kata in karate grammar,

KUMITE

Kumite means "cooperation" or "sparring." The term "partner" was chosen intentionally, rather than "opponent." In partner training, pre-planned drills will help you become familiar with and practice using a variety of punches, kicks, blocks, and thrusts.

Kumite is the language of karate.
