U18's Kildare Shield Final Result:

SCORE:
Kildare Town AFC 2-1 Kingswood Castle FC

GOAL:
Cameron Roche ⚽️

REPORT:
Unfortunately, it wasn't to be for our young U'18s side in the Shield Final, but from a Management perspective we couldn't be prouder of what this group has achieved in their first season together.

The first half saw us huff and puff without really creating many clear cut chances and a sloppy goal conceded gave Kildare Town the advantage heading into the break.

At half time changes we're made and we started the second half brightly, but another avoidable goal put us 2-0 behind and left us with a mountain to climb. To the boys credit, they responded well and created a number of opportunities throughout the second half, but the ball just wouldn't fall for us when it mattered most in the final third.

With four minutes remaining, Skipper Cameron Roche produced a moment of quality, firing home a fantastic long range strike to bring us back into the game, it proved to be too little, too late as we came away empty handed.

While the result is disappointing, there are plenty of lessons for this young team to take forward. Many felt we were the better side for large periods of the game, but football is decided by goals, and on the day Kildare Town were more clinical when their chances came.

This defeat will hurt, but it should not take away from what has been an excellent season. The future is bright for this group, and we have no doubt that they can kick onwards once this Team learns from this experience and comes back stronger.

Thanks to Kildare Town AFC & we will wish them the best of luck for the rest of their season ⚫🟢⚽

Our Senior Men’s Team Awards Night took place last Saturday in what was a brilliant and entertaining evening for everyone involved, while also giving the Squad and Management time to reflect on a positive season which ended with promotion to the division above.

Promotion was a reward for the hard work, commitment and standards shown throughout the campaign, but the focus now quickly turns to the next step. The challenge for this group is to kick on again, continue raising performance levels and make sure we bring silverware back to the Club next season.

Congratulations to all Players, Management and supporters on a successful 2025/26 campaign ⚫🟢⚽

BIGGEST MOAN 🗣
Adam Mooney

“This award says everything about him. The talent is undeniable, but so is the moaning.”

BIGGEST ACTOR 🎬 🇪🇸
Joanet Planas

This exceptional Player can not only do it on the pitch, but he can also bring his award winning acting to the stage which, in his case, is the pitch itself.

MOST YELLOW CARDS 🟨
James Kearns

Heart, will and desire in abundance but mostly mistimed tackles that end in cards.

MOST RED CARDS 🟥
Callum Hurley

Red cards and goals he doesn’t know which one he enjoys more, because he’s equally capable of both.

MOST IMPROVED PLAYER 🏆
Fergal Kinsella

A well earned and thoroughly deserved reward for a player who has come on leaps and bounds. No matter where he’s asked to play, he gets on with the job without any moaning or excuses and always gives everything for the team. Exactly the type of Player every club needs, reliable, committed, and a consistent 7 out of 10 every single week.

LONGEST SERVING PLAYER 🏆
Alex Murray

Ten years at the club after making his senior debut at just 16 years of age, he has constantly been there and done it. Trophies, medals, unforgettable moments, and some absolutely unbelievable goals along the way a true servant to our Club.

CLUB MAN 🏆
Max Keogh

Ask, and it shall be done. We are very lucky to have this young man at our Club. A bright star at the side of the pitch, he is a constant positive presence around the Club and always carries himself with a great smile. A pleasure to have involved with us.

TOP GOALSCORER 🏆
Liam Delaney

An absolute goal machine. 32 goals in as many games this season, a Club record along with countless hattricks, shows exactly what a colossus he has been for our Club. He continues to raise the bar and go up though the levels while delivering week in, week out.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR 🏆
James Kearns

A leader both on and off the pitch. Captain fantastic in every sense of the word. Full of heart, will, and desire, he constantly demands more from his teammates but never asks for anything he isn’t willing to give himself first. He sets the standards, drives the group forward, and leads by example every single week. A thoroughly deserved award.

PLAYERS PLAYER 🏆
Liam Delaney

Goals win games, but performances and performance levels are demanded every single day. Whether it’s in training, on the pitch, or around the Club in general, this bright spark continues to show exactly what he means to his Team mates and everyone involved at the Club.
