My fifth favourite nephew, Gary McQuaid suggested I build a GRAVEL BIKE.

So I did.

So let me just pre-empt the inevitable ‘bad review’. A guy walks into my shop this morning with an electric foldup Carrera. “I bought this yesterday in Halfords and the handlebars just came loose. Could you tighten them for me?!” And he demonstrated how the handlebars were completely loose. I replied - “ So, you buy a bike in Halfords for about a thousand euros, and the day after you bought it it has a catastrophic breakdown, (that’s what handlebars coming loose all of a sudden is called. Catastrophic), and you expect me to fix it???”. I will admit to a hint of sarcasm in that reply. “Well could you just lend me an allen key?!?”. “I suggest you take that bike back to Halfords Amigo”.

The two engineers from Europe said to me - “that was a brave move, putting a pair of lowriders on a Colnago. But you pulled it off. Vell dan”! 😉

Check this beauty out. Already booked for this weekend. Full Campagnolo groupset, (triple ring chainset for touring), original Tange headset, and swanky red Mavic wheels. Nice.
