Conference season is in full swing, and May is always one of the busiest and most rewarding months of the year for our team at Hotel Solutions DMC.

This week, we are delighted to be supporting one of the largest conferences we look after, the FORSA Biennial Delegate Conference, taking place at the fantastic INEC killarney.

It was a pleasure to welcome delegates, organisers, and special guests to Kerry today, including An Taoiseach, who attended the conference earlier this morning.

Michelle had the pleasure of a show around at the stunning Haddington House yesterday and, with the sun shining across Dún Laoghaire Bay, the property was looking at its absolute best. You would be hard pushed to find a more perfect setting.

A taste of Belfast’s distilling heritage

Stephen was up in Belfast again last weekend, and this time he visited the Belfast Distillery Company - McConnell's Irish Whisky, uniquely housed within the historic Crumlin Road Gaol.

Blending rich history with a modern revival of Irish whiskey making, this working distillery offers an immersive experience from start to finish. From guided tours that bring to life the craft and heritage behind the McConnell’s brand, to tastings and interactive cocktail experiences, it’s a fantastic addition to any programme.

For our clients, McConnell’s is more than just a distillery visit, it is yet another distinctive Belfast venue we work with for corporate events, incentives and private gatherings. The setting sensitively combines the building’s recent living history with the fascinating and progressive story of the McConnell’s brand, creating an experience that is both engaging and truly memorable.

Over the weekend, Stephen, the newest member of the team, visited Titanic Belfast, a truly world-class attraction and one of the many exceptional experiences we incorporate into our bespoke programmes across the North of Ireland.

Located along the historic Maritime Mile, this award-winning venue offers far more than a visitor experience. Through immersive, multi-sensory galleries, it brings to life the story of the Titanic and the city that built her.

A first look inside Belfast’s newest luxury opening.

Stuart had the pleasure of stepping behind the scenes at the soon-to-open The Bedford Hotel Belfast, and we are proud to be one the first DMC's in Ireland to experience this stunning new property first-hand.

Set within the beautifully restored Scottish Mutual Building (dating back to 1904), the Bedford seamlessly blends Belfast’s rich heritage with refined, contemporary design. From elegant bedrooms to thoughtfully restored original features, every detail reflects quality, craftsmanship, and timeless style.

Opening on 8th April with 82 luxurious bedrooms (and a further 20 rooms to follow later this year), this multi-million pound transformation is set to become one of Belfast’s standout new addresses.

The design is simply impressive, from the rich textures and warm tones in the bedrooms to the beautifully finished bathrooms and unique touches throughout. It’s clear that service, comfort, and attention to detail are at the heart of the guest experience here.

Day two - SITE Global Conference 2026.
It all started with the General Session, and in the afternoon; Destination Immersion Activity, where Stuart went Kayaking at the Jubail Mangroves, and planted some saplings.
The day itself delivered what makes this community special, with some bold ideas, global perspective and meaningful connections.
This evening is the SITE Crystal Awards Gala event, taking place at Warner Bros World. This is the Incentive Travel Industry’s Highest honour, celebrating Excellence, Creativity, Impact and Outstanding programming from around the world.

Today in Abu Dhabi, the SITE Global Conference 2026 officially kicked off, alongside the SITE Chapter Leaders’ Meetings.

It is a pleasure to represent the SITE Ireland Chapter, Stuart Thornton, President of SITE Ireland and to connect with fellow chapter leaders from across the global SITE community.

These meetings are a valuable opportunity to exchange insights, align on strategic priorities, and strengthen collaboration as we continue to elevate incentive travel worldwide.
