Starting today at 12 noon, DULBC will be beginning our annual 24-hour Ergathon in support of Women's Aid Ireland.
Any donations are greatly appreciated and can be made in-person in Front Square, where we will be erging 12pm - 8pm and 8am - 12pm, or through the iDonate link below. In addition to supporting Women's Aid, donations will contribute to the subsidisation of our athletes' rowing-related expenses (i.e. racing and regatta-accommodation costs), helping to make our sport more affordable for all.
We aim to row 500km (over the width of Ireland!), so keep an eye on our socials for updates throughout the 24-hour period.

On the 23rd of May, we held our Annual General Meeting. The membership heard from President Rowena Mulcahy, Captain Jane Prendergast, Treasurer Adelaide Telzrow, and Secretary Annie Moore.
The main event of the evening saw Eliza Barrett-Cotter elected 2025/26 DULBC Captain. Eliza started as a Novice in 2022, racing in the victorious Sally Moorhead crew and winning the Novice 8+ and 4x+ at the Rowing Ireland National Championships. She has since become a core presence on the Senior squad, serving as Alumni Officer on the student committee this year. Her work ethic and dedication to the Club over the past three years demonstrate her promise as our future captain.
The evening concluded with the presentation of the Jen & Kat Miller Award to Ashla Copeland, an individual whose club-first mentality and otherwise exceptional character are always on display. In her four years with DULBC, Ashla has been consistently supportive of and welcoming to everyone on the squad; there is truly no one more deserving of this honour.
Congratulations to Eliza and Ashla!

This weekend, 13 of our Novice women raced at Lough Rinn Regatta in Co. Leitrim. This was these athletes' first Grand League racing experience and we could not be more proud of the results!
The girls won both the Novice 4x+ and Novice 8+ categories and raced well against the other Division 2 crews! Below are the results:
Division 2 W8+ - 🥈
Division 2 W4x+ - 3rd in the B final
Thank you to everyone who was involved in making Lough Rinn Regatta a great day of racing!!
This week, we are looking forward to our home regatta! Trinity Regatta will take place on the 16th and 17th of May, with races over the 1,800m Islandbridge course. In addition to racing, we will be officially naming the 2 new boats in our fleet, acquired thanks to a massive fundraising push this year which could not have been possible if it weren't for the Trinity College Dublin Development and Alumni Fund and our own network of amazing DULBC alumnae.
If you are looking for something to do this weekend in Dublin come down to Memorial Gardens to enjoy some sunshine, food, drink, and great racing!
We look forward to seeing everyone there!🩷🤍

Last night (07.05.2025) DULBC attended the Trinity College Dublin Sports Awards! It was a very successful evening for the club with both María Mezquita García-Poggio and DULBC captain Jane Prendergast being honoured with awards!
María was awarded Trinity Pinks, the highest sporting award in Trinity. In under four years of rowing, María has raced three Senior Colours, won at both the Irish National and the Irish University championships—not to mention at various other competitions around the country—and represented Ireland at the Home International Regatta. María no doubt deserves her position among the most prestigious of athletes in Trinity's sporting history!
Nominated alongside four other amazing women, Captain Jane Prendergast won the Women in Sport Champion award. In addition to her captaincy of the ladies boat club, Jane serves as both Honorary Secretary for the Trinity Sport Union and Treasurer for Trinity College GAA Club. Last year, in addition to a stellar term as Trinity News Sports Editor, Jane was named the National Student Sportswriter of the Year at The National Student Media Awards. Recently, Jane helped lead the charge to bring more media attention to the women's events at the Colours Boat Races. Looking ahead, Rowing Ireland's Women on the Water initiative will be coming to Dublin this summer, thanks in large part to Jane's finger always being on the pulse when it comes to all things women in sport. Congratulations Jane!
DULBC and club members/alumnae also received nominations in the following categories:
Volunteer of the Year — Caoimhe O'Neill, Novice-squad coach, Trinity student, Club alumna
Sport Person of the Year — Grace Healy, Senior-squad member, Rowing Ireland High Performance member and trialist
Comms & Impact Award — DULBC nominated as a club
Performance of the Year — the 2025 Sally Moorehead Crew, winners of the 2025 Colours Boat Race in the novice women's category
Thanks so much to Trinity College Dublin Sport for such an amazing night and congratulations to all the nominees and winners!
