Well done to our own Greg Bennett. Greg was part of the successful raheny hurlers who this evening overcame naomh olafs in a hard fought replay in the Dublin Senior hurling B championship.
Greg has put massive work in this year and last to not only in his own training but also organising team strength and conditioning sessions for his team mates. Tonight was the culmination of two seasons of hard work for Greg and the raheny hurlers. Last year narrowly loosing in the intermediate final. This evening Greg and the lads deserved their success and were sure they will enjoy the evening!

Well done lads

This is a piece of news that needs to be told, Last Tuesday night as 3 Raheny GAA lads were walking home from the club, they noticed flames from the Old folks flats in Avondale. They got their mobile phones out (not to snap chat) but to call the fire brigade. Then they ran into the flats and helped evacuate the residents. Thankfully there were no fatalities. These young lads are HEROs. And we Raheny GAA are very proud of them. Well done Cian Storey and brothers James and Andy Keane.

RSP kids Easter camp finished up today!
What a great few days! We introduced the kids to different types of sports from Gaelic games, athletics, ultimate Frisbee, to Olympic weightlifting among others!

In the gym we introduced the kids to proper warmup and mobility techniques, we thought correct exercise technique regards the squat, lunges and plank exercises. There was also some fun had out doors playing games and using the knowledge learned inside the gym in the nearby Saint annes park🖒

Great work from all the kids involved😀

Here's a few shots of last week's kids Strength and Weightlifting Class.

We covered how and why we should warm up and mobilise including movements such as crawls walks and rolling.

We then moved on to our teaching exercise of the day, The Squat. We covered some progressions of the squat including air squat, split squat, the lunge and OHS.

We then moved onto our weightlifting movement for the day, The Sn**ch.

We then finished with a strength circuit. This circuit integrated all the movements the kids had learned earlier in the class. Some of the exercises included Body weight squats, med ball lifts, elevated push ups, prowler pushes and jumps.

***KIDS OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING and STRENGTH CLASSES***

We're happy to announce after much success with our recent weekly kids strength and movement classes. We are now running weekly kids Olympic Weightlifting classes.
These weekly classes will take place every Wednesday afternoon (starting april 5th)at 4pm. Kids between the ages of 8-14 will be welcome. Places will be limited to ensure sufficient pupil to coach ratio.
Help us make some future Irish Olympians!😃🏋
