So the past few months have been challenging with my sewing limited first by back/sciatic pain and now by recovery from back surgery that I had almost 2 weeks ago now. I am •almost• back to feeling like I can sit at the sewing machine for a bit, so am hopeful I will be able to get a few more festive bags in the shop before Christmas. In the meantime. I do have a few fun bags I was able to complete before surgery and I am running a sale for Cyber Monday! I would love it if you are able to check out what I have in the shop - a few of which are shown above. Shop link is in my profile. I hope everyone is having an amazing holiday season so far! ❄️ 🎁 🎄 ⛄️

This serendipity skein colorway reminds me of apples - such an autumn feel as I knit on our front porch looking at the carpet of leaves (that we need to deal with yet, lol)… 🍎 🍏 🍁 🍂 🧶

The in Dublin has amazing sweaters, blankets and more. I had to keep reminding myself that I can knit my own! They also have clan knitting patterns and I found 3 of the ones from my mom’s side of my family: Kelly, Campbell and Robertson (that side is all Irish/Scottish). I might just have to make something using the Kelly stitch pattern someday - my grandmother was a Kelly. 🙂🇮🇪🧶

Of course I had to find and visit a local yarn store in Dublin… is a lovely family-run shop with so many beautiful yarns. I found plenty of Irish yarns to try out! And the very first thing I saw when I walked in? The new Gnomes of Grimblewood book by ! I decided to use my suitcase space on yarn so will be picking up a copy back here in the US, but loved seeing it internationally!

How many project bags can you fit in a backpack for a week-long trip to Ireland? In my case, three. With the assumption that souvenir yarn will find its way into my bag on the way home. Glad yarn is squishable! Can’t wait to explore Dublin with my daughter as she starts her semester abroad!!

I hadn’t done cross-stitch in many years but couldn’t resist this cute little mushroom last fall at . It only took reading glasses, good lighting and a few evenings to get it stitched up!

Now that I’m done with blanket square knitting, I’m working on getting some new items up in the shop. Today I’m finishing up this tape measure cover - I love all of the possible color combinations but this is one of my favorites! Coming soon to the shop (link in bio).
