10 years ago today (in a shed just outside Newry), 5 of us came together to make a weird side project out of our existing bands at the time. We eventually called it ‘Cloakroom’, naming it after a brawl we witnessed breaking out in the middle of a “queue” for the cloakroom during a Death Grips gig. Eventually we added the “Q” after we were contacted by the north American band ‘Cloakroom’...no idea what happened to them.
It’s been an insane decade for us all personally and as a band. We’ve played all over Ireland as well as in England and France, lived together through a pandemic and raised thousands for Palestinian families by becoming a Black Sabbath tribute band for basically a year.
We’ve become more than best friends over the last 10 years and genuinely cannot imagine any of our lives without each other or this sh*tty wee band and plan on being part of it until our dying days. So thanks for putting up with our nonsense for 3 singles, an EP and an album (we don’t talk about yes again) and if you were here for the days we were announcing gigs in Hex and morse code on Facebook, no you weren’t. See you’s in the Oh Yeah centre on 19th November!
