Recent Races
Fethard AC members have been busy over the past few weeks, with a great turnout across a variety of races and challenges. It has been fantastic to see so many athletes getting out and representing the club, with some excellent performances and personal bests along the way.
At the Greenway Half Marathon on 29th August, James Maher put in a superb performance, crossing the finish line in 1:22:34 to set a new personal best. Cathal Hurley also had a strong run, finishing in 1:39:19, while Pat Morrissey continued his excellent recent form with a time of 1:39:32. This was another personal best for Pat, making it his second PB in the space of one week — a fantastic achievement and a great reflection of his current form.
The following day, on 30th August, Fethard AC was represented at the Moreabbey 10/10. Jack Spillane took on the 10-mile event and recorded an excellent time of 1:09:59, while Michael Allen completed the 10K in 42:05. Michael was back in action again the following Sunday at the Run the Bridges 10K, where he ran an excellent 41:46 to set a new personal best. This was a fantastic performance and showed great commitment, with Michael taking part in two races in such a short period.
On 22nd August, a number of club members took on the challenging Knockmealdown Challenge. Well done to Isobel Minogue, Siobhan Maher, Deirdre Royce, Nicola Noonan, Katie Ryan and Michael Lyons on completing the challenge. A special mention goes to Deirdre Royce, who had a fantastic performance, finishing 3rd in the O50 category.
Well done to all our members who have been getting out and taking part in races and challenges over the past few weeks. It is great to see such strong participation from Fethard AC across a wide range of events🔵⚫️
