u15 Irish Cup

West Utd 1-3 Knocknacara FC
Shay Lydon ⚽️

Although it was a game we lost,This was arguably our best performance since returning to underage football.

Playing a star studded Knocknacara A team who operate 4 divisions higher than West,One would of expected a rather one sided game.

What transpired was one of the games of the season played in fantastic spirit by both sides who refused to give an inch,West took an early lead with a goal of the season contender from Shay Lydon when he volleyed into the top corner from all of 30 yards.

Knocknacara responded brilliantly to equalise almost straight away and when they went ahead 5 minutes later,One would of expected the floodgates to open but this West side is made of tough stuff and were unlucky to go in 2-1 down at the break.

West were fired up on the resumption and pinned Knocknacara in for long periods as Knocknacara defended brilliantly to keep the sides level with two goal line clearances.

As West desperately seeked an equaliser Knocknacara hit the insurance goal on the break with a sublime goal but West can be very proud of their performance and thanks to the Knocknacara coaches who were very complimentary on the West performance.

This side has huge potential under Rodney Paul Alan and Batty,They need to now concentrate on the league and get up the divisions 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬⚽️⚽️⚽️
