Geevagh GAA Club Geevagh GAA Club was founded in 1886 and now caters for over 300 members with teams from U6 to Senio

Now in it's 127th year, the club caters for players, both boys and girls, at all age levels in football. The first official reference to the club is in February of that year when the Sligo Champion reported on a keenly fought athletics competition between Geevagh and neighbouring Ballyrush. The juvenile section of the club dates back to the early 70s, with the ladies putting on their boots around 2000. The club is located in South East of Sligo, about 15 miles from Sligo town. We are currently a Senior Club with adult teams in both Ladies and Mens Football and a very active under-age section from U6 up to U20. We have had considerable success over the years at all levels, and are consistently represented on the County Teams at adult and juvenile level. The club now has over 300 members, and as it celebrates its 127th anniversary this year, the future looks promising. We always welcome new members, in a playing, coaching or team-assistance capacity. Intermediate Ladies Championship. Rd 5.

Our Gaobhach LGFA Senior Ladies season came to an end in Pairc Ailbhe this morming.

Defeat to Curry meant our Ladies couldn't progress to the semi final stage.

Thanks to the players and management team on an entertaining season all be it tough going at times with a young inexperienced side, but to their credit they always gave their all.

Intermediate Championship Relegation Play Off.

Enniscrone Kilglass GAA 2.08 (14).

Our Senior Lads secured Intermediate Championship status for 2027 season with a hard earned victory in Corran Park this evening.

Despite being reduced to 14 players early in the first half, our lads showed great character to be level at half time, level again with 20 second half minutes gone and then kick on to finish the stronger at the final whistle.

Thanks Lads and Management for an entertaining, year, promotion to Senior League for 2027 is a fine achievement and will be a huge benefit to our younger players in this years squad.

Playing at the highest club level in any county is where you want to be.

Congratulations to Sophie Smith who was presented with her u14 Connacht medal on Wednesday night with the county squad in The Yeats Tavern. It was a wonderful celebration of a great team with all players enjoying a fun reunion.
Well done to GSTM player Khloe Rooney aswell... Thanks to everyone who organised it and supported our young players all year especially the Sligo LGFA manager Tom Carney ,coaches Siobhan Conlon, Geevagh GAA Club Daniel Smith, Colm Sheridan, and Flos Cathy Maye and Emma Flanaghan.

Our lads came out the right side of a high scoring encounter this evening, the lead by 12 points at half time, kicking some great two pointers, but Tourlestrane edged their way back into the game in the 2nd half, but our Lads finished stronger to make it two wins from three.

Next up is a home clash on Ballintogher vs Castleconnor on Thursday next.
