Well well well… Summer Smash is officially over!

We wrapped things up yesterday with a "fun" tournament which quickly devolved into aggressive competitive sweating, questionable line calls and the usual high-grade court banter. 😄

A massive shout out to everyone who stumbled in over the summer to swing wildly at shuttlecocks, pretend to stretch and socialize. Honestly, without you all, we’d just be a group of adults alone in a hall squeaking our shoes at parquet in sad, lonely silence.

And let’s hear it for our brave ringleaders Vinny, Alexa, and Vidya! Hip hip hooray for babysitting a room full of chaotic badminton addicts, keeping the schedule on life support, and making sure nobody accidentally swallowed a shuttlecock. 👏

That’s summer survived… now pack away the casual vibes and prepare your knees for the cold, unyielding reality of the 2026/27 actual season! 🏸

See you on court (I'll be the one lunging for a drop shot and immediately regretting every life choice)!

🏸 The Summer Smash officially kicked off today with an amazing turnout and fantastic energy from everyone!

It was especially great to see so many new faces joining us on court. The summer season is looking exciting already. More rallies, more sweats and of course… LOTS of smashes! 💥🔥

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made Day 1 such a success. Bring on the rest of the summer! ☀️🏸

And that’s a wrap on another fantastic season for our club! 🏸👏

Yesterday, we held our AGM and reflected on what has been an incredible year for the club. From great achievements on and off the courts to the fantastic participation, commitment, and support from all our members, this season has truly been special.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed throughout the season. Whether you played, volunteered, supported, coached, or cheered us on, your dedication and enthusiasm are what make this club such a great community.

We are proud of everything we achieved this year, and we’re already looking ahead with excitement as we gear up for an even bigger and better season ahead! 💪🔥

And the badminton action continues… Summer Smash is just around the corner! ☀️🏸 Looking forward to more games, more fun, and more great memories together.

Greystones Saints Badminton Club enjoyed a triumphant day at the Wicklow League Finals.

Winners – Grade 6 Men: Mark, Nick, Naveen, Ranjith
Winners – Grade 7 Men: Varun, Amit, Alex, Rob (with Alex and Rob stepping in as substitutes for Colm and Sudipto)
Runners-up – Grade 7 Ladies: Carmel, Niamh, Dorothy, Heather (with Niamh and Heather subbing for Estrella and Suzie)

An outstanding all-round performance from everyone involved. The standard just keeps rising, and the club achieved its goal of consistency.

Congratulations to all players and members who contributed to a fantastic result.

The boys win the quarter finals in the closest of clashes and move on to the semi finals. Reaching the top 4 in the group is a fantastic achievement for the team.

A big thank you to our own Phil for coming down today to support, mentor and share valuable tips.

No rest, the same team are back in action tomorrow in the Wicklow League finals.

It’s official, with their win on Friday the Grade 7 Ladies have secured their place in the Wicklow League Finals!
