This was our second day on Howth 17 No.8 ‘Echo’, sailing from Schull to Crookhaven. The rain was wet & the swell was mighty, but what an adventure! Our @eoinkernan and @karolinabadz are down in Baltimore this week, swapping SUP for sail, as part of the #howth17 125th Anniversary Rally. #howth17footers1898 #classicboat #woodenboat ***** ✅ SUP safely by ➡️ - 👩🏼‍🎓getting training from an appropriately qualified provider - 🌦️learning how to independently read the weather forecast - 🎽 always wearing a CE-certified buoyancy aid (PFD) - 🪢 always using a board leash and release system suitable for the water conditions - 📱 always carrying a phone in a waterproof pouch and on your person - 💨 never going out in offshore (away-from-the-land) winds ✅ Discover SUP is an @asi_academy [ASI] accredited SUP provider, and abides by their high standards for SUP operations. ✅ Discover SUP coaches are ASI and first aid qualified, and Garda vetted, with many years of water-sports experience. ✅ Discover SUP coaches have completed HSE training - An introduction to children first, and Safeguarding adults at risk of abuse - along with various continual professional development work.
