It’s a family affair! Nothing beats running with your daughter and neice., so delighted to have them here at the Torremolinos 5 k with all the crew. Pipped in the last 200m for 2nd place but I’ll take it on a course that ran 700m long. Have to save something for the half marathon tomorrow too.

Sun above, snow beneath, heavy moving body in the middle. We had a dump of snow last night which makes snowboarding more fun but running a lot more challenging. Trying to remind myself that missing some miles ain’t going to hurt, and I’m building new muscles from the boarding. You won’t know my backside when I’m back 🤣🤣🤣🍑🍑🍑!!!

RIP Chewie. A couple of days ago, our lovely 15 year old dog passed away. He wasn’t just a dog; he was a local legend, a free spirit, and, let’s face it, probably the most sociable member of the family.
He had a gift for making friends everywhere he went, whether that was at , during one of his infamous Houdini escapes, or with my personal training clients who, let’s be honest, started showing up less for the workouts and more for Chewie cuddles. He was so compassionate, he was more like an emotional support dog to stop me doling out burpees. He had an uncanny ability to make every single person feel like they were the center of his world.
It didn’t matter how secure the garden seemed—Chewie always had other plans. He could find his way out of Fort Knox if it meant a trip to The Summit for some pub vibes and belly rubs. And on the way back, he’d call in on all the neighbors, especially Roisin and Mark, spreading joy, wagging his tail, and probably mooching snacks.
But to our family, Chewie was so much more than a pet. He was a friend, a therapist, and a healer. He was there for all the milestones, the laughter, the tears, and the “Where’s Chewie ?” moments, which included me picking him up at 3am from a lovely homeless man that called me worried about him and a trip to Santry where he had followed a dude on a bike from Howth . And although our hearts are breaking now, they’re also so full—full of gratitude for the years of unconditional love, the endless memories, and the incredible stories we’ll be telling for years to come.
We’ll miss you more than words can say, but we’re ever so thankful to and for looking after him so well while we were away and having to deal with all the trauma that goes with the end of a life. Although we were devastated not to be there at the end, I’d like to think it was Chewie’s way of saving us from the pain.
Rest in peace, Chewie and say hi to Ewok from us all. ❤️❤️❤️

Swapped runners for snowboard boots—traded roads for powder and blisters for… well, different blisters… I wouldn’t change a thing! Loveliest morning snowboarding with my niece in the ☀️. Absolute bliss to be back to my happy place.

Running in New York: where dodging tourists, pigeons, and taxis counts as cross-training.
To be honest, this whole week has been brilliant for cross training. I’ve eased up my pace and mileage this week ( although massively increased my step count) and made sure to do a class every day along with an easy run. Everything from spinning with , to Pilates with , boxing and hiit with ._.bootcamp. It’s made me regain my love for group classes and definitely want to continue more cross training at home.
Group classes are not just great physically but they are a great way to find your joy. Why don’t you try and mix it up with something new this week?
