🟨 REFEREEING IS ABOUT DECISIONS.

“Refereeing is about making tough decisions quickly and standing by them.”

A powerful reminder from Michael Oliver that the role of a referee demands courage, confidence, and responsibility. Every match brings moments that require quick thinking and strong decision-making. ⚽️🟨

Respect the decisions. Respect the referee.
Better decisions. Better football.

Awful news. Some of our branch members had the privilege of officiating matches involving Aoibheann during LOI Academy games for CK United, and more recently in the Women's U19 Inter-League Final, where she proudly represented Wexford.
Our sincere condolences go to her family, friends, former coaches, teammates, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rest in peace, Aoibheann.

⚽ Handling the Ball – Know the Law!

Not every contact between the ball and a player’s hand or arm is a handball offence.

✅ No offence if the arm is in a natural position or the contact is unavoidable.

❌ Handball if a player:
• Deliberately moves their hand/arm towards the ball.
• Makes their body unnaturally bigger with their hand/arm.
• Scores directly with their hand/arm or immediately after the ball touches their hand/arm, even if accidental.

Understanding these principles helps players, coaches, referees, and fans interpret one of football’s most debated laws.

📖 Law 12 – Fouls and Misconduct

💬 Which handball decision do you think causes the most confusion in football?

Thanks to Marble City Soccer Podcast for sharing some of our content during the season. If anyone has no plans Friday evening get yourself out to their first ever live show!

We seem to have some confusion about our live show and awards night. We have physical awards for all the players of the year that we announced. All winners have a free entry for themselves but if they could let us know about attendance because this is a ticket only event. Thanks very much, we will have a episode out this week along with the live show on Friday 🙌🏽
