Busy day on the course as over 150 players played in two different U16 Competitions today.
For the second competition this evening our Club Secretary brought down the Cups for the European and World Cup winning teams he was a part of to show to our U16's.
Coming up to the first anniversary of his involvement in the European win he reunited the Club President with the Cup he accepted for Ireland back in 2005 as team captain.
A note to all that the course closes from 4.30pm tomorrow due to the staging of the club's Bob Casey night.

It was not to be for David Harnett this morning in Rocklodge in the Junior Mens National Matchplay semi-final although he put up a good late fight trailing by six with seven to play in only losing out by 3&2 after to eventual runner-up Aidan O'Rourke of Cunnigar.
We congratulate David on replicating his brother Robbie's achievement of winning a bronze medal at a National Junior Mens Championship as he held his own over the weekend.
Closer to home our first Sunday draw in a month produced a rather unique achievement from a certain Mike 'Seve' O'Leary!

While our hopes of an all Deerpark Junior Mens Final at the National Matchplay are over we want to commend both David Harnett and James Foley on their performances today. Both won in the Last 16 with David winning his quarter-final with Riverdale's Gary O'Neill 5&3 to reach tomorrow's semi-finals.
James meanwhile had a very tight battle with Claycastle's Kieran Kenneally before losing out 2&1 in his quarter-final on the other side of the draw. We also say well done to Jean O'Shea on a great performance in her Junior Ladies quarter-final as she lost out to Bishopstown's Angela Royer by 2&1.
Our best wishes to David tomorrow in the Junior semi-finals as we also would like to wish Tralee's Tony and Charlotte Blake well in the semi-finals of their respective grades.
