We are looking to try a new programme, Walking for All, here at the CAKE Centre. The initial plan is to meet on a Monday and Wednesday evening at 7pm, with Saturday mornings at 9am as a new alternative, at the centre.
Designed to improve health and well-being in rural communities by making walking more accessible, enjoyable, and social for everyone to explore and participate in, Walking for All, will deliver short, regular walks in local community spaces. The programme is open to adults, regardless of age, background, or ability. By fostering a focus on connection, inclusion, and well-being, Walking for All will seek to build sustainable, healthy communities and address issues such as social isolation, wellbeing and inactivity.
The plan would be to have two different routes; a short route or a longer route, so it will suit everyone. This would be a great addition to our current Move2Improve and Smovey Classes and will bring its own social element too.
All we need is a few people to agree to be walk leaders, basically to lead either group. Training will be provided.
