Please take time to read the following long message with some important updates below regarding Juvenile groups and upcoming season of Athletics.

1- Cross Country training
The Cross Country season commences with a new relay event on Saturday 12th September. Can we please ask parents of any juvenile members interested in participating in Cross Country events to please contact Fergal who will coordinate with coaches on 0863814609 before Friday 21st August. Training for children participating in Cross country will resume next week- further details will be sent when we assess interest. We are hopeful of entering a few teams and high level participation but children will be expected to attend training and be available for team competition. Regular juvenile training will resume in late September/early October and updates on groups and times will issue in advance of same.

2-New intake of children born 2018
Please find below a link to an expression of interest form for children born in 2018 to join Drumshanbo AC. This link will be valid and open from Friday 21st August until Friday 11th September, 5pm. Late submissions cannot be accepted.

Following this deadline, we will then assess the demand and look for appropriate number of coaches to step forward from the parents of these children to help sustain the large numbers of children participating in athletics. For older children born prior to 2018 who have not had an opportunity to join Drumshanbo AC previously we will try to accommodate as places become available. For requests for children born in years earlier than 2018 only please send an email to [email protected]

3- Teen athletics
We are working on a new teenage athletics group for members (and new members) going into secondary school, (or already in secondary school). We will share more information shortly but we expect this will be on a different night to Tuesdays. We hope with your support to bridge the gap and have members continue with athletics at this important transition.

Thank you for your continued support as we further develop the club and build on the current structures. We want to cater for all levels, ages and abilities and can achieve this with your support and patience. see you all soon

Club Meeting
Drumshanbo AC will have a club meeting in the Mayflower on Monday 17th August at 845pm to plan for the upcoming term and to build on adult initiatives. All members welcome and encouraged to attend.
