St.Senan's Gaa Rounders

Our Under 14 Championship Finals has had a change of venue. This years Under 14 Champions will be decided after a day of action at Athlone GAA club, Athlone. This Saturday, First pitch 12:30pm

On the 9th May,Our U/14 Rounders Bhoys made the trip to St.Kieran's Gaa Ground to contest the Munster Championship Finals against Neighbours St.Kierans
St.Senan's came away with a great victory on a scoreline of 18-3.

Our 1st Games of our Intermediate Championship took place yesterday in Limekiln Rounders Park In Dublin on Sunday 10th May

1st up was our Mens 1st game against Dublin Mets,both teams started well and clocked up some runs on both sides,unfortunately we were just unlucky in our 1st game,losing 26-35,to Dublin Mets,a quick turn around for us as we were straight into our next game.

2nd Up was our Men's game against St.Clare's of Cavan,and taken what happened in our 1st game,we used it to our advantage and cut out errors and stayed focused to claim our 1st Win in our Intermediate Debut Championship,winning 13-11,with some nice fielding and sharper batting

3rd up and our 1st Mixed Intermediate Championship game,started well,but like our 1st game,we were unlucky again,narrowly been defeated 10-6,by St.Clares Mixed team.

A big well done to everyone yesterday,everyone played well,onwards and upwards from here now for our St.Senan's Gaa Rounders Teams.

Our Player of the Day was Euan Sheehy,who made some fine fielding catches and even pulled off a double out in 1 of the innings and hit some nice balls aswell,

A big week ahead for St.Senan's Gaa Rounders Teams, with our Mens and Mixed heading to Dublin to play 2 Mens and a Mixed game in 1 day,in the start of our Intermediate Championship Journey

A huge Congratulations to our St.Senan's Gaa Ladies Rounders Team,who travelled to Ardagh tonite to take on Local Neighbours St.Kieran's in the Munster Winter League Final.
Led by Captain Kyra Hogan ,who won the toss,which proved to be a good omen,and opted to field 1st,and with the 1st Inning finishing 8-5,in favour of St.Senan's,
St.Kieran's fought back in the 2nd to level it,before St.Senan's went into bat,and with some great batting and running, St.Senan's took the lead back and heading into the 3rd,Our Ladies were now leading 13-8,
And with some fantastic bowling from our own Louise Kelly,through out the game,they started the 3rd inning well,bowling out 1 and our backstop Dympna O'Brien holding onto 1 of many fireballs bowled in by Louise to catch another player,then St.Kieran's battled back with a few runs,to push it close near the end,but quick thinking from St.Senan's Ladies,they got a 3rd person out to claim victory in their 1st season
Winning out 13-11,with a batting to spare
Well done to all the Ladies tonite.

It is now going to be played in the Gaa Field in Ardagh,which is located in behind the national school in ardagh.
