Dublin was the destination for the Longford U12 Girls Inter League Development Programme yesterday, with Inny FC duo Roisín Murtagh and Ruth Whelan proudly pulling on the county colours at a highly competitive tournament hosted by Templeogue United ⚽

The Longford girls put in a series of impressive displays against some of the strongest opposition in the country.

The club was proudly represented both on and off the pitch, with Anthony Maguire and Colin Murtagh serving as members of the Longford management team.

A great experience for everyone involved and another proud day for club and county. Well done girls and coaches! πŸ‘πŸ’›πŸ–€

⚽️ Incredible season comes to an end for our Inny Reds U12s πŸ–€πŸ’›

What a journey it has been for this fantastic group of players. The season concluded with a narrow 1-0 defeat to neighbours Mostrim FC in the Tynan Cup semi-final after a hugely competitive and hard-fought game. We wish Mostrim the very best in the final πŸ‘

This team gave us so many special moments throughout the year, most notably reaching the Connacht U12 Trophy Final β€” one of the biggest stages in Connacht schoolboy football. The lads showed unbelievable determination, quality and character all season long.

Captain & goalkeeper Daniel Brady produced outstanding performances throughout the campaign, including a superb display in the Connacht Final and two penalty saves in the Longford League Shield Final as Inny defeated Newtownforbes on penalties 🧀⭐️ Sean Reynolds calmly converted the winning penalty to secure silverware for the club πŸ†

The lads made history by becoming only the second Longford League club in 98 years to reach a Connacht Final at U12 level β€” an incredible achievement πŸ‘

⚽️ 34 matches played
⚽️ 8 wins from 10 national & provincial cup games
⚽️ Trips across Sligo, Mayo & Galway
⚽️ Connacht Finalists
⚽️ Longford League Shield Champions πŸ†

A massive well done to all players, coaches, parents and supporters who made this season so memorable.

With both the Inny Reds & Inny Yellows competing at U12 level this season for the first time in club history, the future is incredibly bright for Inny FC πŸ–€πŸ’›

Longford League U16 Girls Cup - Final

Match Report: Inny FC 5 – 1 UCL Harps F.C.

What a way to cap off an incredible season for Inny fc, as the girls lifted the U16 Cup and sealed a fantastic league and cup double in style.

Coming into the game, we knew we were up against a strong and skilful UCL Harps side, and the opening stages proved exactly that. Both teams started brightly, playing some excellent football and showing real intent. It was Inny who struck first, finding the net after a well-worked move. UCL responded well and, to their credit, pushed hard for an equaliser, which they duly found shortly after.

The game remained finely balanced, but just before the break Inny showed their quality once again, regaining the lead with a crucial goal that gave them momentum heading into halftime.

The second half saw both sides come out with determination, but as UCL committed players forward in search of another equaliser, Inny capitalised brilliantly. Showing composure, bravery, and clinical finishing, the girls took control of the game and added further goals to pull away. Their teamwork, decision-making, and work rate were outstanding throughout, ultimately securing a deserved 5–1 victory.

This was an overall brilliant team performance from start to finish, with every player playing their part in a memorable win.

The coaches and everyone at Inny fc are extremely proud of this talented group of girls. To win the cup and complete the double is a remarkable achievement and a fitting reward for all their hard work, dedication, and belief throughout the season πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

⚽️ Goals: Willow Parker x2
Roisin O'Neill x2
Aoife Leavey x1

πŸŽ–οΈReferee player of the match: Roisin O'Neill.
All the girls we're outstanding and each played strong, skillful and confident football but as the Ref said after the game it was Roisin that linked up play brilliantly between the midfield and forwards, providing assists and taking her goals with ease.

🌟 Thank you all for coming out and supporting the girls and cheering them on to the end. Your support at the game and throughout the season has been amazing πŸ‘πŸ»
