Pintathlon Update
We have some unfortunate news to share.
Due to circumstances outside our control, the venue we had secured for the Pintathlon is no longer available. This is incredibly disappointing, especially with the event so close after something we’ve all been looking forward to for so long.
The good news is that we’re already working on alternatives.
Our priority is to find a suitable outdoor field where we can still deliver the fun, competitive atmosphere that makes Pintathlon what it is. If we move to this format, we’ll likely be able to reduce the entry fee and run it as a “Bring Your Own Drink” event instead.
We’re also doing everything we can to keep the new location as close as possible to the Athlete Village, so competitors won’t have far to travel.
We’ll share another update as soon as we’ve secured the new venue. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We’re determined to make this happen, even if it takes a little creativity.

Something’s happening 👀
🎉 Happy Birthday, Sergej! 🎉
Today, the Obstacle Course Racing Association of Ireland would like to wish a very happy birthday to our President, Sergej Dikun.
For those who don’t know Sergej, he’s living proof that sometimes the best adventures begin completely by accident.
What started as a guy who simply loved obstacle racing somehow evolved into leading a national federation, spending countless evenings on calls, writing proposals, organising championships, dealing with insurance, convincing people that obstacle racing is a real sport, and occasionally wondering if everyone around him has mistaken him for someone who actually knows what he’s doing.
Despite suffering from what appears to be a chronic case of Imposter Syndrome, Sergej somehow managed to help transform OCRA Ireland from a small community organisation into a federation hosting European Championships and securing the OCR World Championships 2026 for Ireland.
Not bad for a man who probably still wakes up some mornings wondering who approved him for the job.
Over the years, Sergej has inspired millions* through his leadership, determination, and refusal to accept that “it can’t be done.”
(*Estimated audience may include family members and paid followers.)
His journey reminds us that you don’t need to have all the answers to make a difference. Sometimes you simply need to care enough to keep showing up, keep pushing forward, and keep believing that something bigger can be built.
From local races to international championships, from ambitious ideas scribbled on paper to world-class events coming to Ireland, the impact has been real, and the journey is only getting started.
Thank you for everything you have done for obstacle sports in Ireland.
Have a fantastic birthday, Sergej.
Now please take at least one day off before accidentally bidding for another World Championship.

The OCRA Ireland Team
Small change to the Pintathlon plans.
We are now aiming to hold the event on Sunday, 9 August instead of 10 August.
The location has been agreed and we’ll be revealing it soon, so keep an eye out.
More updates coming shortly.
Sneak peek of the “before” state of one of the paths 👀
Walked into the wrong part while doing a championship course walk. Should we include this anyway?
