Well done to Gary Coady on making team of the week.
Gary had to come on early yesterday in our 0-0 draw against Caragh Celtic after skipper Alan Coady came off with an injury.

Corbans Celtic 0–1 Kildare Town AFC

Corbans Celtic bowed out of the Div 1 Cup after a tightly contested quarter-final, going down 1–0 to Kildare Town.

Corbans started brightly and put the visitors under immediate pressure. Inside the opening few minutes, Corbans came agonisingly close to taking the lead, hitting the post as they piled forward looking for an early breakthrough.

The game continued at a high tempo, with both sides battling hard and creating opportunities. Kildare were awarded a penalty following what Corbans felt was a harsh handball decision. The visitors made no mistake from the spot, putting Kildare Town 1–0 ahead.

Corbans refused to let their heads drop and continued to battle for an equaliser. Both teams had chances as the game went from end to end, with Corbans pushing hard to find a way back into the contest. Dean Fennessy showing his skills narrowly missing the target with a well executed bicycle kick just missing the target.

Unfortunately, despite the effort and pressure, the equaliser just wouldn't come. The final whistle confirmed a narrow 1–0 defeat for Corbans.

A disappointing result, but plenty of positives to take from a performance full of fight, determination and commitment.

Best for Corbans were Alan Coady and Aidy Thomas who worked tirelessly throughout 👏
