🟢⚫ CORBANS CELTIC ARE INTO THE FINAL! 🏆

Martin Maloney Division 1–2 Shield Semi-Final
Monasterevin 1–3 Corbans Celtic

What a weekend for our small club! After a fantastic week of fundraising for Féileacáin, it was back to football this morning, with a place in the Shield final on the line.

Both sides were eager to make a bright start, but the early breakthrough went Corbans’ way as we took a 1–0 lead. when Aidy Thomas smashed the net with a perfectly laid pass from Alberto. Both teams created chances, but Corbans held that advantage going into the break.

Both sides came out full of energy in the second half. When Alberto received the ball from Aidy, the duo linking up again and he made no mistake, slotting home to put Corbans 2–0 ahead.

Monasterevin kept battling and pulled a goal back with five minutes remaining, setting up a nervy finish and giving Corbans a reminder that the job was far from done.

Then came the moment that sealed it. Liam O’Shea delivered a superb ball from a free kick, and Alberto was on the end of it to slot past the Monasterevin keeper in the 94th Minute, securing a 3–1 win and sending Corbans into the final! 🙌

⭐ Man of the Match: Alberto, with two crucial goals and an assist!

A huge well done to all the players and management, and thank you to everyone who came out to support the lads. Thanks also to Monasterevin for a hard-fought game.

After yesterday’s special charity day, a place in the final rounds off a weekend to remember. 💚

One more game. One more big push. Come on Corbans! 🟢⚫🏆
