The Tralee Half Marathon on 25 Oct brings the 2026 Tralee Marathon Race Series to an exciting finish! This scenic route starts & finishes in Tralee, passing through Ardfert, the Spa and the Kerries, offering a great mix of urban, coastal and countryside running. It’s the perfect way to spend the Bank Holiday Weekend — run a great race and enjoy all that Tralee has to offer! We are looking forward to welcoming all participants to Tralee.

Half a century ago, in 1976, the cross-country championships had a huge profile and much pride was at stake in both athletics organisations in Kerry, NACA and BLE in those far off days. As the 2026 cross-country championships begin, tradition will be copper-fastened in the sport in Kerry Athletics as the whole county is now one entity.

Incredibly, some of the runners who upheld that cross-country tradition in 1976 are still competing. Michael Mangan (Star of the Laune) was the silver medallist in cross-country half a century ago and will be donning the club singlet over the coming weeks.
