I have gathered the information posted here from reports in several local papers and from memories of players, managers, referees and supporters. Unfortunately, the information is not complete. There may well be errors but overall a reasonably good account of the history of the competition is given. If and when more accurate information comes to hand, I will add corrections. Jimmy McElroy
