✨ Getting back in the studio tomorrow after a long break and feeling very excited about it 🤗

I’m covering yin at 11am - more updates on classes to follow next week.
Props are available but do feel free to bring your own, if you don’t have a bolster then a rolled up beach towel will do the trick 👍🏼

☀️ This blissful 50 minutes of sun-drenched sun salutes all the way from Sydney with my lovely was really made possible by which keeps Tommy utterly mesmerised 🤩

Praise be for nursery rhymes and doing what you got to do to get on your mat 🙌🏻🐥

✨ 𝒂𝒉𝒊𝒎𝒔𝒂 ~ non-violence or non-harming
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When we live with 𝒂𝒉𝒊𝒎𝒔𝒂 in mind, we are not harming others, ourselves or nature 🐾🌳 We are not thinking negative thoughts about ourselves or others 👯‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our thoughts play such a big role in our overall well-being. When we think negatively, we send messages through our body that cause the fight or flight response to release cortisol or the stress hormone in to the body. This lowers the immune system, making us more susceptible to illness and physical pain.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💫 On the other hand, 𝒂𝒉𝒊𝒎𝒔𝒊𝒄, kind thoughts cause dopamine or the feel good, relaxation chemical to be released in to the body. This strengthens the immune system, and actually has the power to cure us from illness!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In essence, go easy on yourself and others, watch your thoughts, be kinder to your mind, look after the things you can control in these crazy times 🌪
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“If one does not practice nonviolence in his personal relationships with others, he is vastly mistaken. Nonviolence, like charity, must begin at home,” ~ Mahatma Gandhi 🤍

Things to do in isolation? Find a windowsill and practice your crow 🦅 😅

✨ The new norm 🙆🏻‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s incredible how a global crisis can unite a global online community that didn’t really exist before a week ago. Through the toughest of times, I get to see and share little silver linings every day (while trying to create my own hot yoga studio!)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Tonight I was joined by and my old pal and teacher in my living room 🤸🏻‍♂️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Tomorrow I’m getting up at a ridiculous hour to see my lovely and I’m ecstatic 🥰

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Stay safe all, it will get better 🤍

Always the wisest, most reassuring words from 🙌🏻

Surviving this crisis will take a shift in mindset, and that’s tougher than we think - especially when we’re afraid. ⁣

Fear and anxiety can drive us to become very self-focused. This global pandemic is a real case of “getting sick together” or “staying well together.” ⁣

Our choices affect everyone around us. There is no such thing as “individual risk” or “individual wellness.” ⁣

This is the ultimate reminder that we are inextricably connected to each other. Turning away from collective action right now - as tempting as it is - will only generate more pain. ⁣

Owning and embracing our global inter-connectedness (from a safe distance) and thinking about others as we make choices is, ironically, our only path to safety for ourselves and the people we love. ⁣

We can all get really sh*tty really fast when we’re afraid. I get it. I’m using deep breaths along with my personal mantra: ”Try to be scared without being scary.” Feel free to borrow both - they can help.⁣
