Callum was a brilliant young lad, loved by his teammates and coaches, and it’s clear how much he meant to your club. The strength and togetherness you’ve shown this week has been incredible, and we’re standing with you through it all.

In times like these, colours and rivalries fade, and what truly matters is the strength of the people within our local clubs.

A busy weekend of football for our 2017 U11 / U10 group!

Saturday saw us travel to Villa FC for our U11 E League fixture, coming away with a well-deserved victory. A great team performance, with the lads staying organised and disciplined throughout, while continuing to work on their build-up play and positioning.

On Sunday morning, we were back on the road to Wexford for a friendly against North End United AFC. Another competitive game against a strong and physical side, giving the lads a great opportunity to continue working on their build-up play, movement and positioning.

Two great games, plenty of positives and valuable experience that will stand to the team as the season progresses.

Well done to all the lads, and thanks to Villa FC and North End United AFC for two enjoyable games of football!

14bs travelled to Park Rangers Saturday morning. In a very entertaining game, we had chances early , Jack L and Ali working their keeper. Dean and Alfie were marshalling our defence well while Shay was bossing the midfield. They went 2 after 2 deflected efforts giving Jamie no chance. Ali pulled 1 back before the break for us with a lovely finish. Jack Corcaran started the 2nd half in goal and didn't put a foot wrong, they got a 3rd. Dylan Drepaul put Ali through, he was fouled , penno. Lennon Hearne stepped up and slotted home. Alfie put Lennon through and again goal but the whistle blew, offside ( dodgy 1😆) . FT 4 2,Very unlucky not to get anything from the game . The team put in great effort , thanks for all the support from the line , to the ref and Park Rangers for a great game on a super pitch , ball sponsor Dawn Meats

Our second game of the U10 season saw us welcome Pilton on a perfect sunny and dry afternoon for football.

It was a very entertaining game, played in great spirit by both teams. There was some lovely football on display, plenty of chances, and some fantastic saves from both keepers.

Every one of our players played their part, and it was great to see the kids already stepping up and progressing from our first game of the season.

A special mention to Oisín, who had a cracking game for us on the wing.

Both teams kept pushing and looking for goals right until the final whistle, which made for a great game to watch.

We wish Pilton the very best for the rest of the season and look forward to playing them again at their ground later in the year.

U12D Boys League

Villa E 1–2 St. Joseph’s B 💙🤍

Some games are about more than just the result, and this was certainly one of them.

Over the past 12 months, we have got to know this Villa side very well, and every time these two teams meet, we know we are in for a proper game of football. It is genuinely a pleasure to watch these two teams play against each other. The games are competitive, exciting and always played in the right spirit, and we absolutely love these contests because that is what football is all about.

We started the game strongly against a very well organised Villa team who, just like us, have that never-give-up attitude. Villa were strong defensively and made it difficult for us to break them down, but we still managed to create plenty of chances in the opening half. Their goalkeeper was outstanding from the very start, making a number of excellent saves to keep Villa in the game.

Eventually, we found the breakthrough. Kasper created the opportunity and, after a scramble between the Villa goalkeeper and defender, the ball somehow found its way into the back of the net to give us the lead.

Villa responded exactly as we expected them to and continued to battle for every ball. They got their reward shortly afterwards with a superb free kick that sailed just past Jacob’s hands and into the top corner. A fantastic strike and one that Jacob had very little chance of stopping.

1–1 at half-time.

Both teams came back out for the second half and continued to fight for every ball on what is a lovely big pitch. The game really could have gone either way, with chances at both ends and both sides showing tremendous work rate.

Once again, it was Will Lonergan who produced a superb finish to put us back in front and make it 1–2.

From there, Villa put us under serious pressure as they looked for an equaliser, but our defence stood up to the challenge brilliantly. Every player worked incredibly hard to protect the lead, and when the final whistle went, we had managed to come away with another hard-fought victory.

🔵⚪ U11B MATCH REPORT ⚪🔵

St Joseph’s AFC 5–1 Southend United A

Another great performance from the lads, but this was a game that was far closer and more competitive than the scoreline suggests.

Credit has to go to Southend United, who battled incredibly hard from the first whistle, fought for every ball and gave us a real contest throughout. They never stopped pushing and made us work for every goal.

We started strongly once again and played some lovely football, creating chances but, yet again, we weren’t taking those opportunities when they came. The Southend goalkeeper was excellent and kept us out on several occasions.

Eventually, the breakthrough came from some fantastic build-up play. Seanie produced a superb pass for Jayce Dunphy, who kept his composure and slotted the ball home to make it 1–0. ⚽

Just before half-time, Kacper broke through the Southend defence and picked out Karfala, who made no mistake in finding the back of the net to give us a 2–0 lead at the break. ⚽

Defensively, we were excellent in that first half. Harry, Amara and Leo were outstanding, making some massive tackles at crucial moments to keep Southend at bay and protect our clean sheet.

2nd half started with Drew getting our third, giving us a 3-goal advantage.

Southend came out fighting in the second half and were rewarded with an impeccable free kick that flew into the top corner. There was absolutely nothing Oscar could do about it. A fantastic strike and credit to the Southend player. 👏⚽

Then came the goal of the game! 🔥 Drew produced an absolute screamer from open play, striking the ball brilliantly and giving the Southend keeper no chance. What a finish!

But Southend simply wouldn’t give up. They continued to push right until the final whistle and forced Zach into an excellent save in the dying moments to keep them from getting another goal.

And finally, the goal that Seanie had been chasing all game arrived! His persistence and hard work were rewarded as he found the net to seal our 5–1 victory. ⚽👏
