“Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me.” — Philippians 4:9

In Taekwon-Do, we grow by practising. We become stronger, more confident, and more skilled by showing up, trying again, learning from mistakes, and doing our best.

This is true in life too. When we learn something good—respect, self-control, courage, kindness, patience, or perseverance—we should practise it at home, at work, in our relationships, and on the mat.

Some days will be harder than others, but we do not have to be perfect. We simply keep choosing what is right, one choice at a time.

**Taekwon-Do challenge:** This week, choose one good habit to practise every day—being respectful, helping someone, staying calm, encouraging a classmate, or following through on a commitment. Small actions, practised often, make us stronger inside and out.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank You for teaching me what is good and right. Help me to practise it every day—at home, at work, and in Taekwon-Do. Give me courage, self-control, patience, and a kind heart. Let Your peace be with me in every part of my life.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Don’t Quit – Your Harvest Is Coming.

“Galatians 6:9 (NLT):
“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

We all know the feeling:
- Early morning classes
- Sore legs
- Same basics again
- Missed gradings, tough sparring sessions, plateaus

It’s easy to think, “What’s the point?”

But God says: **don’t grow weary.** Every time you:
1. Show up when you’d rather stay in bed
2. Choose respect over attitude
3. Help a junior instead of showing off
4. Practice self-control when you’re frustrated

…you are “doing good” in His eyes. That’s not wasted effort. It’s seed being sown.

In Taekwon-Do, you don’t see the black belt on day one. You earn it rep by rep, class by class, year by year. The same is true spiritually. God’s harvest—stronger character, deeper faith, new opportunities, leadership, peace under pressure—comes “at just the right time.” Often later than we want, but never too late.

Today, decide:
“I won’t cut corners in my basics.”
“I won’t quit when it gets hard.”
“I’ll encourage someone who feels like giving up.”

Keep sowing. Don’t quit. Your harvest is coming.

Prayer:
Lord, when I’m tired or discouraged, remind me not to give up. Help me keep doing what is good in my training, my attitude, and how I treat others. I trust You with the timing of the harvest.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” – Romans 8:31 (NLT)

Big idea
God is on your team. You never train, fight, or face life alone. Nothing can take away His love for you.

For your training
- Nervous? “God is with me. I don’t have to be perfect—just faithful.”
- Mistakes? “God is for me. I’m learning, not failing.”
- Lost a competition? You’re being built, not beaten. God is still in your corner.
- Pressure? God sees your heart and effort. He’s working in you.

Do this today
- Before training: “Lord, You’re on my team. Help me train hard and stay calm.”
- When it’s tough: “God is for me. I can keep going.”
- After training: “Where did I see God’s help? What’s one thing I’ll improve tomorrow?”

Quick prayer
God, thank You that You’re on my side. Give me courage, strength, and peace. Let my training show I belong to You. Amen.

Say this out loud:
“If God is for me, who can be against me?”
Make it your belt verse—tight, strong, and always with you.

“The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.” — Proverbs 16:9

I plan my training, gradings, and competitions like any serious student. But I don’t own the outcome. God guides my steps—through injuries, timing, opportunities, and the path He wants me on. So I’ll prepare well, train hard, and trust Him with the rest.

Prayer
Lord, help me to plan wisely and work hard, but to hold my plans lightly. Direct my steps in class and in life. Grow my character more than my belt. In Jesus’ name, amen.

“Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.” — Isaiah 41:13

Every training session brings challenges—tired muscles, difficult techniques, setbacks, and moments of doubt. But you do not face them alone. God holds your hand, gives you courage, and helps you keep moving forward.
Train with discipline, practise with perseverance, and face each challenge with an indomitable spirit. Your strength is found not only in your body, but also in your faith and character.

Prayer:
Lord, help me train with courage, discipline, and humility. When I feel afraid or want to give up, remind me that You are with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Takeaway tip:
When training feels difficult, take one deep breath, remember God is with you, and give your best effort on the very next technique.

🥋 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”
— 2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT)
Before gradings, sparring, or new patterns, fear can show up. But as Christian martial artists, our identity is not fear—it’s:
💪 Power – to keep going and do what’s right
❤️ Love – to serve and protect our training family
🧠 Self-discipline – to stay calm and focused under pressure
🙏 Prayer
Lord, replace my fear with Your power, love, and self-discipline. Help me train and live in a way that honours You. Amen.
📌 Takeaway Tip
When you feel nervous, pause and say:
“God has given me power, love, and self-discipline.”
Then breathe, focus, and take the first step.
Not fear. Not timidity. But power, love, and self-discipline.

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness…” (Galatians 5:22, NLT).

As a Taekwon‑Do student, I’m learning that character matters as much as technique.
The Holy Spirit grows His fruit in me so my five tenets become a way of life.
• Courtesy — Love, Kindness, Peace: I choose to value people, speak gently, and stay calm—on and off the mats.
• Integrity — Goodness, Faithfulness: I do what’s right even when it costs, keep my word, and own my mistakes.
• Perseverance — Patience, Joy: I trust God’s timing through slow progress and find joy in small wins.
• Self‑Control — Peace, Patience, Self‑Control: I pause before reacting; I let peace steady my breath and wisdom guide my response.
• Indomitable Spirit — Faithfulness, Love, Joy: I stand firm for what is right with courageous, hopeful love that protects the weak.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, grow Your fruit in me today so my tenets point people to Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Try this: Before your next class, read Galatians 5:22–23. Pick one tenet and one fruit to focus on; after training, note one way you saw it grow.

The Greatest Victory

“Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city.” — Proverbs 16:32

In TaeKwon-Do, we train to become stronger, faster, and more confident. But this verse reminds us that the greatest strength is not found in a powerful kick or in defeating someone else—it is found in controlling ourselves.

It takes real strength to stay calm when we are frustrated, to show respect when we lose, to stay humble when we win, and to keep trying when training is hard.

A strong TaeKwon-Do student does not misuse their ability. They choose patience over anger, discipline over excuses, and respect over pride.

Sometimes our greatest opponent is not in front of us. It is our own temper, fear, impatience, or desire to give up. Every time we control those things, we achieve a real victory.

Today, aim not only to become stronger in TaeKwon-Do, but stronger in character.

Prayer
God, help me to use my strength with self-control, patience, and respect. Help me to overcome anger, pride, and fear, and to become strong in both body and spirit. In Jesus name,
Amen.

Discipline Starts at Home

TaeKwon-Do teaches us self-control, respect, and humility. But our true character is not only shown in the dojang—it is also shown in how we treat our family at home.
God calls us to honour one another: to respect, obey, love, and encourage. As TaeKwon-Do students, we must never use our strength, words, or attitude to hurt others.
A true martial artist shows discipline by listening to parents, speaking with respect, and building people up rather than discouraging them.
Your belt shows your rank, but your actions at home show your character.

Today, choose to bring peace into your home. Obey without arguing, speak kindly, and encourage someone in your family.

Prayer
Lord, help me to show respect, self-control, and kindness at home. Let my TaeKwon-Do training build not only my body, but also my character. Help me to use my strength to encourage others and honour You in all I do.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
