On Saturday we held the second Juvenile Blitz of the season, this time in St. Peters College in Wexford. We had a big entry, with players from Barntown, Gorey, Taghmon, Annacurra, and Roundwood. Well done to all the players and congratulations to the medal winners.

Huge thanks to Juvenile Officer Eimear and her team of helpers and umpires for running the show. Deirdre, Gavin, Polly, Aine, Imelda, Sinto, Tom, Ross, Tara, Siobhan, JJ. And thanks to Tigin and Sinto for preparing the hall.

For those playing the Juvenile Blitz competition in Astro Active, Enniscorthy, Y21 W6D7, at the weekend, here are the times:

U11 & U13 on Saturday. Check in at 12:45. Singles starting around 13:00. Doubles after the singles, at about 15:30. Finish around 17:00.

U15 & U17 on Sunday. Check in at 12:45. Singles starting around 13:00. Doubles after the singles, at about 16:00. Finish around 18:00.

Badminton Ireland held the Wexford Primary Schools Leinster qualifier in St Joseph’s Community Centre in Wexford Town yesterday.

Five schools took part. St Joseph’s Gorey, Gorey Central School, St Iberius NS (Wexford Town) Scoil Mhuire Coolcotts (Wexford Town), St Senans (Enniscorthy). A total of 60 children participated on the day.

St Joseph’s Gorey won both the boys and girls sections with Scoil Mhuire finishing second in both sections.

Both St. Joseph’s and Scoil Mhuire qualify for the Leinster finals in Baldoyle, Dublin on 29th January 2026.

Well done to all the students, and their teachers. And congratulations to the winners 🏆
