From us all here in the Cassagh Darts League we send our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Darragh Power who sadly passed away last week.
Darragh will be sadly missed by us all, his courage, bravery, strength and bright smile were only a few reasons why he was not only loved in darts circles but in every day life, he has been apart of our league for the last two years and was someone nobody wanted to come up against as on his day he was a great talent.
With alot of Darraghs family being locals of Alans we all hope that ye can raise a glass too a warrior of a chap and keep him in your thoughts on the day he is being laid to rest.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam 🙏

Last night saw our finals night of the Cassagh Darts League and what a night it was!
The very competitive B final was our first game on the big stage between Philip Tompkins and Matty Flynn, both players showed that they could be a match for anyone in the league with a very high quality game but ultimately it was Philip who emerged as the B finals champion with a very impressive display, well done to Philip on a great win and commiserations too Matty on a great run too the final!
Onto the main event and after some great group games and some excellent quarter finals our first semi final was between our current league champion Paul Delaney and John Wickham although Paul prevailed 4-0 it was alot closer than the scoreline suggested, the second semi final was fought out between PJ Byrne and Jason Cullen with PJ winning 4-1 in a game which both players were hitting trebles for sport.
With the two finalists playing well all night the stage was set for the grand final, both players came firing out of the blocks but it was PJ who just came out on top 5-3 in a game where both players showed there class, i dont think anyone will deny PJ being the new Cassagh Darts champion as he is just a class act on and off the board, well done PJ on a brilliant display of darts all night 👏 Paul although he came out on the wrong side of the final will be happy on a great year which seen him finish top of the league standings again for the second year in a row so well done again!
Another award handed out last night was to our most improved player and although he wasnt there to receive it the committee picked Tommy Byrne out to be the one who we agreed to be the recipient of the award (if your reading this Tommy well done) well deserved!
Thanks again too everyone who donated prizes in our raffle, to Tom Bradley and Liz Byrne who helped with marking and calling on the night its much appreciated lads so cheers.
We only mentioned it a billion times last night but thank you too you the players who make this league what it is, to Alan and Rachel for the use of the venue and sponsorship over the year, also to Brian Walsh and Dick Stafford for there sponsorship and help over the year thanks so much 👏 to the committee for making sure we maximised everything we could to make the league a success, to Joe for supplying us with a darts room we can all be proud of and doing alot of unseen dirty work thanks a million and finally to Paul for the great effort put in to make some programmes, make sure all the paperwork was always in check while still competing at a great level himself. I'm sure everyone will join me is saying a huge thank you and well done to Niall Bradley who has ran every Wednesday night faultlessly and ran our finals night to perfection once again on Saturday night. Without Niall this league would not have ever happened and honestly I don't think it could continue without him, with the time and effort he puts in and the help he gives in every task thats required to keep the league running. He might claim that he has all the easy jobs but that's not the reality. All his hard work doesn't go unnoticed, especially this year which has definitely been harder on him not being able to throw in the league himself. We all hope that Niall can return to the oche next year as we all know he is a force when he's throwin and can beat anyone on his day.
Do it all again next year ? 😉
Thats the plan anyway..... but until then!
Stay healthy everyone and a very Happy Christmas to you all 😊

Last night saw us play out the final week of the Cassagh Darts League. Another good turnout with all eyes on who was going to sn**ch those final few top 16 places.
There was a high standard on show again last night which makes us more excited for finals night on Saturday 6th December. With such a tight battle for top 16 places we were bound to get some good battles in the round robin phase and this showed when 3 players who were all fighting for there spot were drawn in the same group and after they played their group games they still could not be separated and had to play in a 3 way play off to get out of their group.
This week saw Charlie Delaney make his first final of the league and he took on Tom Kehoe who was playing in his second. After a great battle it was Tom who came out on top on a 3-1 scoreline.
With the Top 16 confirmed we now look towards next Wednesday with the B playoffs. Anyone who has played atleast 1 night and has paid is eligible to play in the B playoffs which will be played out on Wednesday 3rd December. For anyone who may not have paid membership but has played in the league and would like to play in the B playoffs if you could give me a shout or message the page before Wednesday.
We will be in touch with players for some info and confirmation for finals night over the coming days.
We look forward to seeing a good crowd at the B playoffs Wednesday night as it was a great night last year and this year will be no different

See everyone tonight to find who is going to book their place on finals night on Saturday 6th December. Names in by 8:45 Games away by 9:00pm 🎯🎯🎯
Cassagh Darts League continues Wednesday night with it's 10th and final week of the 2025 league.
Everything is still all to play for with regard to top 16 places heading into our final night. With only 3 points between players in 13th and 19th place all eyes will be eagerly watching this battle. A good run for any of these players could be all they need to qualify for the main finals. With a 7 way fight for the last 4 top 16 spots who will we see come through it?
In the event of a tie for 16th place we will have a play off between those players tied either on Wednesday night once tables have been finalised (if all players are in attendance) or next Wednesday 3rd December before b playoffs begin.
A reminder for anyone who doesn't make top 16 for main finals, you are eligible to play in the B playoffs once you have played atleast 1 night and membership is paid.
We look forward to seeing everyone Wednesday night. Names in by 8:45pm Games away at 9:00pm
