Successfully Concluded Zonal Level U-17 Boys & Girls Kho-Kho and Rope Skipping Competitions at Sports Stadium Mattan
The Zonal Level Inter-Institutional competitions in the disciplines of Kho-Kho and Rope Skipping for U-17 Boys and Girls were successfully concluded today at Sports Stadium Mattan. The three-day sporting event commenced on 16-05-2026 and continued till 18-05-2026 with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
The event witnessed an overwhelming participation of 185 students from various educational institutions of Zone Mattan, showcasing their talent, agility, teamwork, and competitive spirit in both Kho-Kho and Rope Skipping disciplines.
Throughout the tournament, players exhibited excellent discipline and determination, making the event a grand success. The competitions were conducted in a fair and transparent manner under the supervision of officials and physical education staff.
At the culmination of the event, all participants collectively took an Anti-Drug Pledge, reaffirming their commitment towards a drug-free society and spreading awareness about the ill effects of substance abuse among youth.

The Zonal Level competitions for U-14 Girls in the disciplines of Kho-Kho and Rope Skipping kick started today on 16-05-2026 at the Sports Stadium Mattan under the aegis of the Youth Services & Sports Department Zone Mattan.
A total of 110 girl students from various schools of Zone Mattan participated enthusiastically in the opening day of the competitions. The event witnessed active involvement of students, officials and staff members, reflecting the growing interest of young girls in sports and physical activities. The participants showcased excellent sportsmanship, discipline and team spirit during the competitions.
On the occasion, awareness regarding the ill effects of drug abuse was also imparted under the banner of Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA). The students were encouraged to adopt healthy habits and stay away from substance abuse through active participation in sports and co-curricular activities.
The programme concluded with an Anti-Drug Pledge administered to all participants and officials, reaffirming their commitment towards creating a drug-free society and spreading awareness among the youth.

Under the ongoing nationwide campaign of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), a series of awareness activities were organized today across different educational institutions of Zone Mattan with the aim of sensitizing students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a healthy, disciplined lifestyle among the youth.

Special morning assembly talks were conducted in various institutions of the zone where teachers, heads of institutions, and resource persons highlighted the growing menace of substance abuse and stressed the importance of moral values, self-discipline, and positive engagement in academic and co-curricular activities. Students were encouraged to remain vigilant against social evils and to play the role of responsible citizens in building a drug-free society. The speakers emphasized that awareness at the school level is essential to safeguard the younger generation from the dangers of addiction.

Meanwhile, an Anti-Drug Story Writing Competition was successfully organized at MIE Akura under the banner of NMBA. Students actively participated in the competition and expressed their thoughts creatively through impactful stories carrying strong messages against drug abuse. The activity provided a meaningful platform for students to showcase their literary talent while spreading awareness about the importance of leading a healthy and addiction-free life.
