You cannot heal someone who is not ready to face what is hurting them.
Not your partner.
Not your parents.
Not your siblings.
Not even the person you love most.
You can communicate honestly.
You can explain how their behaviour is affecting you.
You can guide them towards therapy or the right support.
You can even make that first step easier for them.
But you cannot take it for them.
This does not mean you stop loving them or walk away without trying. It means you stop carrying the responsibility for a healing journey that belongs to them.
Love can open the door.
Support can make the path less frightening.
But they must choose to walk through it.
Say what needs to be said. Offer help with compassion. Then remember: their healing is their responsibility, and protecting your peace is yours.
