🦁 SIMHA VADIVU | SAME STANCE… DIFFERENT FEET?

Look closely.

The Simha Vadivu is the same...

But what happens when the feet are placed differently?

Different angles.
Different distances.
Different orientation.

Does the stance remain the same?

Or does changing the feet change the way the body loads, balances and moves?

And if different lineages teach different foot placements...

which one did your Gurukkal teach you?

At Vajrakaya Kalari Shale, we don't just look at how a stance appears.

We explore the movement, mechanics and martial intelligence behind it.

SIMHA VADIVU | WHY ARE THE HANDS HELD THIS WAY?
In Simha Vadivu, the hands are not simply placed in front of the body.
They are crossed in a very particular configuration, with the palms oriented outward.
But why?
What changes when the same crossed position is rotated so that the palms face inward?
Is this simply a traditional form?
Or could there be a deeper reason behind the way the Gurukkals positioned the hands?
Kalaripayattu's Vadivu system connects stance with movement, attack and defence, and different traditions preserve variations in how these forms are expressed.
We're not going to give you the answer in this reel.
We want to hear what has been passed down in your Kalari.
What did your Gurukkal teach you about the hands in Simha Vadivu?
Tell us in the comments.

The jaguar has incredible strength.
The leopard has agility.
So, among so many extraordinary predators...
Why did our ancient martial tradition preserve Simha Vadivu?
What did the Gurukkals see in the lion?
Was it strength?
Fierceness?
Readiness?
Something else?
We have a question.
Now we want to hear from you.
