A little heat, a little pressure, and decades of knowing exactly what to do. A Hyderabadi lac bangle comes to life. The lac softens over flame, gets shaped around a mould, and then, gets dressed in colour while it’s still warm. Tiny mirrors are placed last. Everything is done by hand, from memory.

Aswin graduated, got a drone, and his hometown hasn’t looked the same since. Now most of his day is spent admiring his city’s beauty from above. Photography, videography, editing, and an audience that’s very glad he looked up  — turns out the sky was never the limit 💫

Once woven from bamboo, these everyday carriers have evolved with time—now braided with plastic wire for strength and durability. The bright colours? A playful twist.
Koodai, as they’re called in Tamil, still feel just as familiar.

“One person can run a 500-tree rubber plantation,” Jibin says, like it’s almost too small a number. He would know — he’s been doing exactly that since coming home after a decade in Dubai. Went straight back to work, just a very different kind of it. Up at 5:30, 250 trees to tap, every bit of it done with his own hands. Just another day at the estate 🧑‍🌾
