We’re incredibly stoked to have been invited to be a part of this event.

It’s inspiring to see global brands like Magene investing in grassroots cycling, spending time with riders, listening to feedback, and building products that genuinely make a difference to the riding experience. That’s how stronger cycling communities are built.

A big shout-out to the teams at Magene Official and World Of Wheelz for putting together such a well-organized event. It’s fantastic to see activations of this quality happening here in India.

And then there’s the Bangalore cycling community...

You never disappoint. Whether it’s a sunrise ride, a product launch, a coffee stop, or simply an excuse to catch up with fellow riders - you show up. Every single time. That’s what makes this community so special.

Shibaji Sahu first walked into BUMSONTHESADDLE with a simple goal — to get fitter. Not to race. Not to stand on podiums. Just to ride longer and enjoy every extra kilometer.

But here’s the thing about cycling: a little more fitness almost always means a little more speed. And that extra speed isn’t about beating someone else. It’s about making longer rides feel easier, climbing that hill with a smile, and one day looking down at your bike computer to realize you’ve ridden your first effortless 100 km.

Something changes after that ride. Cycling stops being just another hobby. It becomes a part of who you are.

Today, Shibaji rolled home on his new BASSO BIKES Basso Venta R — a bike that’s as capable as it is beautiful. What made today even more special wasn’t just the bike — it was the people.

It was wonderful to see so many from the cycling industry come together to celebrate one rider’s new bike day. We had the adolescent group (12–18 years) from TMS Bangalore (The Montessori School & Kriyasthala) spend a few hours with us as they take the first steps towards building a bicycle workshop for their community.

They’re starting where every good mechanic should — getting their hands greasy with drivetrains, brakes, tyres and tubes. But learning to fix bikes is only a small part of the journey.

Over the coming months, they’ll also learn how to think like a bike mechanic: how to diagnose problems, isolate work, plan their time, organise tools, manage customers and, perhaps most importantly, understand budgeting. All while balancing their regular school work.

What’s especially inspiring is that they’re planning to raise the funds for their workshop themselves. They’ll earn the money, buy the tools, and build something that serves their community. What a powerful lesson in ownership.

One of the things we love most about the bicycle business is the incredible contrast between simplicity and complexity. A bicycle may look straightforward, but working on one teaches you how to break complex problems into manageable pieces, think systematically, and keep moving forward one step at a time. Those are skills that extend far beyond cycling.

It’s fantastic to see young people being given the space to think, research, experiment and build at such an early age.
