The company was formally registered in 1960 as KGM Brothers, focusing on civil and infrastructure projects in Singapore and Malaysia. With a strong record of delivery it became a preferred vendor of both governments and was awarded a series of large infrastructure projects including the construction of roads, bridges, power lines, and plumbing and sewerage projects. Known for innovation in delivery, KGM was amongst the pioneers in Singapore for introducing pre-casting, a technique widely used today. Under the stewardship of Dr. Shashi, the Group progressively ventured into real estate, construction and property development across Tamil Nadu and Kerala. In the late ‘80s the Group diversified into garment manufacturing in India and set up an export unit for leather garments and finished leather products.
