Online Classes and consultation: http://online.hiyogacentre.com Founded in 1985 by Sharat Arora, a long term student of BKS Iyengar, the centre has become a landmark on the seekers map. From his regular meditation and constant study, Sharat Arora has put yoga in its right perspective as a spiritual practice to be used practically in life. The centre in Dharamshala has a unique architecture and the garden is a haven of natural beauty whereas the centre in Goa is simplicity itself embedded in an orchard with a variety of fruit trees just minutes from the beach. These 2 centres offer short and long term yoga trainings where a student can progress in all aspects of their life. Currently all Intensive and Yoga Teacher Training Courses are held here as the river and forest that surround it induce the consciousness to be meditative and go within.

🧘‍♀️ Wherever you're stuck, the body reflects it. Blockages often show up as tension, tightness, and holding patterns within us.

Through the true practice of asana, when you consciously relax into a pose, you begin to recognise these areas of tightness and resistance. 🌿

As Master Sharat says, it is through "letting go", softening and relaxing those very regions, that these blockages begin to dissolve. ✨

In relaxation lies the doorway to freedom. 🙏

🕊️ Surrender is an essential aspect of yogic practice. At HIYC, this is especially evident in Shoulder Stand, where true relaxation comes not from effort, but from letting go.

As the body surrenders completely, a profound state of rest unfolds, opening the door to deeper layers of awareness and consciousness. 🌿✨

🌿✨ The recently concluded 5-Day Foundation Course (with qckslvr_) coincided with the arrival of the monsoon in Dharamkot, turning the mountains into a misty, mystical retreat. 🌧️🏔️

Practising asanas to the soothing sound of rainfall, especially the deep relaxation poses, created a deeply immersive experience that helped quieten the racing mind. 🧘‍♀️🍃

This batch also brought together students with similar physical challenges. Although it was an introductory course, we included additional therapeutic guidance. At HIYC, our responsibility is not just to teach yoga, but to help people understand their bodies and learn how to support their own healing. ❤️

Students came from Israel 🇮🇱, Germany 🇩🇪, and different parts of India 🇮🇳, creating a warm and enriching learning experience for everyone.

Astha, (Get away please🐇) graced the beautiful yoga hall with her Kathak performance on the last day, as the course came to an end.

A heartfelt thank you to all the participants for your trust and dedication. 🙏✨ We hope you carry these lessons forward and continue your practice towards better health, balance, and inner growth. 🌿

✨ Are we remembering the past, or living in it?

We often find ourselves not only remembering the past, but clinging to it. So attached are we to what has been that we begin to see the present through the lens of yesterday.

This attachment creates suffering, not only for ourselves but also for those around us. Whether we hold on to memories of past success that inflate the ego, or painful experiences that keep us feeling defeated, both strengthen the same sense of "me."

When we cling to the past, we resist change. We stop meeting life as it is and instead compare it with what once was. In doing so, we lose touch with the only place where life truly unfolds: the present moment. 🌿✨

A powerful reflection from Master Sharat during the 9 Day Immersion Course on why freedom begins when we stop carrying yesterday into today. 🙏

Where is your awareness when you practise yoga? 🤔🧘

Are you thinking? Controlling? Or truly experiencing?

At , we learn to take our awareness within the body, tuning into the intelligence of each action. ✨

Master Sharat emphasises that we are not outsiders telling the body what to do. Instead, we become one with it, quietly observing the sensations and allowing the asana to reveal its effect from within. 🌿

Have you ever experienced an asana this way? Share your thoughts below. 👇💬 Save this post for your next practice. 🙏

Self inquiry is an essential aspect of spiritual growth. 🙏 Without inquiry, we remain confined to our current level of consciousness. Through self enquiry, awareness expands. 🌿✨

Emphasising this, Master Sharat explains the lesser known effect of Sarvangasana, the Queen of Asanas, on our psyche. 👑🧘

🐘 Finding Ganesha Within

A cornerstone of Master Sharat's teaching is eliminating local movements in asana. Through this unique approach, true alignment emerges as "Ganesha"; the inner initiator who removes obstacles. ✨

When Ganesh is found, practice becomes harmonious, reducing inner conflict in both the body and life. 🙏

What is the real purpose of yoga? 🧘‍♂️

Is it flexibility, fitness, strength, or body aesthetics? While these can be natural outcomes, they are not yoga's ultimate aim.

In the opening discussion of the 9-Day Immersion Course, Master Sharat reminds us that yoga is a path of purifying both body and mind. The first session is dedicated to understanding each student's individual needs, setting the intention for a meaningful nine-day journey.

Yoga isn't about mastering poses, it's about discovering yourself.

🌿 Discover your power, align with it, and let it flow into Love.
