A Page from my diary:
A few days ago, I found myself decluttering a cupboard that I hadnât opened in years.
Hidden behind stacks of forgotten things were little treasures from another phase of lifeâdrawings, handwritten notes, school mementos, photographs, and keepsakes I had carefully saved over the years.
As I held each item in my hands, memories came rushing back. I smiled, laughed, and yes, felt a few tears welling up too.
For a moment, I hesitated.
If I let these things go, would I somehow be letting go of those precious years?
Then I realized something important.
The memories were never in the objects.
They were in me.
The love, the laughter, the chaos, the pride, the countless moments that shaped our familyâthey werenât going anywhere.
What I was really doing was creating space. Not just in my cupboard, but within myself.
Decluttering, Iâve discovered, is rarely about things. Itâs often about gently acknowledging that a chapter has been lived, cherished, and completedâand giving ourselves permission to embrace what comes next.
Whether youâre navigating changing family roles, a career shift, or simply a new season of life, perhaps thereâs something waiting to be released so that something new can enter.
Have you ever found a life lesson while cleaning out a cupboard?
