Nirma, a farmer from Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan, manages both her household and farm responsibilities with dedication. While working on her farm, she developed severe skin allergies due to unhygienic conditions, making it difficult for her to continue her daily tasks.
During one of the visits by our Mobile Health Unit (MHU), Nirma consulted a doctor, received timely treatment, and learned how to care for her skin in the future. With regular check-ups and medication provided through the MHU, her condition has improved significantly.
Today, Nirma is back to working comfortably in her fields, feeling healthier and more confident. She also encourages other women in her community to get regular health check-ups and prioritize their well-being.

Kiran Devi, a woman farmer from Jharkhand, achieved her highest seasonal income by joining the Budhibir Samriddhi Mahila Kisan Producer Company Ltd, an innovative woman-led FPO. With doorstep seed delivery and strong support from Samunnati and government schemes, she reduced costs and saved time. Improved access to agri-inputs like vegetables, maize, and paddy transformed her farming. She now takes the lead to support other women in her community.
Meet Archana Kumari from Uttar Pradesh, a passionate student pursuing Horticulture with a vision to transform farming in India. With support from the Corteva Agriscience Scholarship Program in collaboration with Buddy4Study, she’s overcoming financial barriers and pursuing BSc (Hons) in agriculture. She aims to become an agricultural scientist.
Archana plans to empower farmers by introducing scientific farming methods, educating them on market trends, and helping them boost yields and profits. Her journey is a powerful example of how investing in women’s education can uplift entire communities.
Meet Seema, a dedicated small-scale maize farmer from Chitor, Rajasthan. Along with her family, she not only grows maize, a valuable kharif crop, but also raises livestock. Maize farming requires careful attention to soil health and can be affected by various challenges like pests and adverse weather conditions.
Before planting, Seema makes it a point to assess her soil health. Understanding soil quality is critical because it helps prevent issues that could harm her crop yield. Once she knows her soil is ready, she chooses the right seeds, laying a strong foundation for a successful harvest.
With modern farming techniques and knowledge, Seema has improved her family's living conditions. She has become a role model, inspiring other women in her community to embrace farming and support their families.
Seema's journey is an example of how women in rural India are building a secure future in agriculture. Their hard work and determination are paving the way for a brighter tomorrow for their families and communities. Together, they are transforming rural life and showcasing the power of women in farming.
Shreya from Karnataka, India dreams of becoming a scientist and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Horticulture. The Corteva Agriscience Scholarship Program, in collaboration with Buddy4Study, is helping her continue her education and move closer to that goal.
Passionate about agriculture, she aims to bridge the gap between research and practice bringing innovative technologies to farmers, boosting productivity, and supporting community growth in India.
Through the in Ag initiative, we are enabling more such journeys where young women can learn, lead, and transform the future of agriculture.

M.S. Swaminathan, the Father of India’s Green Revolution, laid the foundation for a food-secure and farmer-empowered nation. Through advances in crop science, sustainable agriculture, and technology-driven solutions, his work continues to strengthen rural livelihoods and inspire future generations. On his birth anniversary, we honour his vision, his science, and his legacy.
Milan Devi, a small farmer from Satrampur, saw a real difference in her income last year. By buying seeds and selling her maize and paddy through her FPO – Kisan Ekta – she saved money on inputs and got better prices for her crops.
She no longer has to depend on local traders for quality inputs or to sell her crop. By buying directly and selling through the FPO, she avoids hidden losses and gets fair prices for her produce.
Milan Devi's journey mirrors the positive change experienced by over 3,000 women farmers across Bihar who are finding strength and prosperity by working together through FPOs. It truly shows the power of collaboration in agriculture!
Women farmers across India have long been the backbone of our agricultural communities - nurturing crops, livelihoods, and resilience. Today, their stories are being heard more widely, their leadership celebrated more openly, and their contributions supported with the tools and recognition they deserve to thrive in a sustainable future.
Through a series of conversations with women via our Community Radio Initiative – 'Sapno Ki Udaan', we’ve captured powerful stories of determination and leadership. Women like Mamta exemplify the strength and clarity with which farmers across India are shaping the future of farming and inspiring others along the way.
