Most women spend months preparing for their baby’s arrival.
They decorate the nursery.
Pack the hospital bag.
Write a birth plan.
But very few prepare the body that will carry, support, and deliver their baby.
Pregnancy changes everything. Your posture shifts, your deep core stretches, your pelvic floor works harder, and your body adapts every single day to support new life.
That’s why preparing for labour isn’t about pushing your body harder.
It’s about helping it move better.
Research shows that appropriately supervised prenatal exercise, including Pilates, can help improve posture, core stability, pelvic floor awareness, breathing mechanics, movement confidence, and reduce pregnancy-related back and pelvic discomfort.
At Essenzaa Pilates, every prenatal session follows the globally recognised STOTT PILATES®️ methodology by Merrithew®️, where every movement is personalised to your stage of pregnancy and guided by biomechanics, precision, and safety.
Because preparing for birth doesn’t begin in the delivery room.
It begins in the months before, with a body that feels stronger, more supported, and ready for one of life’s most extraordinary moments.
Join Essenzaa Pilates, and prepare your body with the same care you’re preparing for your baby.

PCOS is often treated as a hormonal condition.
But the science tells a more complete story.
For many women, PCOS is influenced by a combination of insulin resistance, chronic low-grade inflammation, and hormonal dysregulation. That's why sustainable movement matters. Not because it "cures" PCOS, but because it supports many of the systems involved.
Reformer Pilates combines intelligent resistance, controlled breathing, full-body strength, and mindful movement in a way that supports metabolic health, builds lean muscle, improves insulin sensitivity, and helps regulate the body's stress response.
It's not about pushing your body harder.
It's about giving your body the kind of movement it can respond to consistently.
At Essenzaa Pilates, we teach the globally recognised STOTT PILATES® methodology by Merrithew®, where every session is guided by assessment, biomechanics, spinal alignment, and personalised progression.
Because living with PCOS isn't about fighting your body.
It's about understanding it, supporting it, and helping it move better every single day.

For years, Reformer Pilates has been dismissed with one simple argument:
“Springs can’t build muscle.”
The problem is, your muscles don’t know whether resistance comes from a barbell, a cable machine, or a spring.
They only respond to the challenge they’re given.
Research shows that muscle growth is driven by mechanical tension, metabolic stress, and time under tension. A Reformer spring can create all three.
A peer reviewed EMG study found that changing spring resistance directly increased muscle activation across the core, back, and lower body muscles during Reformer exercises.
Even more compelling, a 2025 randomized controlled trial published in Scientific Reports found that women who completed just 8 weeks of Reformer Pilates (3 sessions per week) experienced:
• Increased muscle mass
• Reduced body fat percentage
• Improved upper body strength
Does this mean Reformer Pilates replaces heavy strength training?
No.
But the research clearly shows that it can build real, measurable muscle while improving movement quality, stability, and control.
At Essenzaa Pilates, we teach the globally recognised STOTT PILATES®️ methodology by Merrithew®️, where every movement is guided by biomechanics, precision, and progressive resistance, not trends.
Because strength isn’t defined by how heavy something looks.
It’s defined by how intelligently your body is challenged.

Most footballers prepare for tackles.
Far fewer prepare for the forces their body experiences during every sprint.
Research from the UEFA Elite Club Injury Study found that around 61% of hamstring injuries occur during high-speed running, not contact. During sprinting, the hamstrings must absorb extremely high forces while lengthening, making them especially vulnerable if the body lacks stability and control.
That’s why injury prevention isn’t just about stronger legs.
It’s about how well your entire movement system works together.
Pilates helps improve:
• Deep core activation
• Lumbopelvic stability
• Hip mobility and glute function
• Running mechanics and body awareness
• Efficient force transfer through the kinetic chain
The result isn’t just better movement. It’s a body that’s better prepared to accelerate, decelerate, change direction, and perform under speed with less unnecessary strain.
At Essenzaa Pilates, we teach the globally recognised STOTT PILATES®️ methodology by Merrithew®️, where every movement is built on assessment, alignment, biomechanics, and intelligent progression.
Because the best injury prevention doesn’t begin after pain.
It begins long before the first sprint.

Most people think Reformer Pilates is about improving posture.
A 2025 peer-reviewed study suggests it may do much more.
Researchers followed 22 office workers through 16 Reformer Pilates sessions over 8 weeks. Instead of measuring weight loss, they looked at three evidence-based outcomes: posture, body appreciation, and social appearance anxiety.
The results were remarkable.
Postural alignment improved significantly. Participants also developed a more positive relationship with their body, and their social appearance anxiety, the stress of feeling judged by others based on appearance, decreased significantly.
This reminds us that movement isn’t only physical.
When your posture improves, your breathing becomes more efficient, and your body moves with greater control, it can influence the way you experience yourself every day.
At Essenzaa, every session follows the STOTT PILATES®️ methodology by Merrithew on the Merrithew V2 Max™️ Reformer, combining modern biomechanics with intelligent movement to help you build strength, confidence, and long-term movement quality.
Because the best transformation isn’t always visible in the mirror.
Sometimes it’s standing taller, moving with confidence, and feeling more at home in your own body.
