When we think of winter - we think of warm quilts to watch TV in , reading books in the sun, or having a hot cup of coffee. But we don't realise how blessed we are. Not everyone has this "luxury". So every year, in Jaipur, we pack our cars with blankets and socks and drive around the city in the night, distributing them to the homeless. It's a tiny tiny attempt at making a difference, but we hope to get better and bigger each passing year.
It is disheartening to see how many people sleep on the cold pavement and cover themselves with just plastic bags. But at the same time it strengthens our resolve to move forward and do as much as we can.
Remember - there's always something to be thankful for. Count your blessings and give back.

Every child has a right to education. Watching these young children smiling and studying in this squalor and heat is heartwarming, but at the same time brings a tear to your eyes. These kids study in a one room school in one of the slums in Jaipur. Their parents are rag pickers. When you walk in, the children greet you with " good morning madam". When you leave they say " thank you and bye bye" and are ever ready to sing a nursery rhyme for you. Hats off to the teachers who have been at it for more than 15 years. We should be so grateful for the life we have and count our blessings and give back to the less fortunate whenever we can, in whatever way we can. Their smile and sheer joy when you give them something as simple as a pencil is what keeps us going.

Sadiya's results are out and she has done really well ( except Maths but hope she will figure that out soon). We are just happy that she is able to continue her education thanks to the generous support of our family and friends.

With the temperature going down to under 10 degrees in Jaipur.. We thought it was time to give some blankets and caps. So as these homeless people slept we set about driving around and putting blankets on them. We hope to do this more often and in a larger number.
