Our Journey since 1936

In 1936, Dina Nath Mehta accompanied the Indian Hockey team to Berlin Olympics as an official supplier. That started the trade of Indian Maharadja hockey sticks and equipments. The World War 2 era had temporarily discontinued business activities which were restarted from Bombay in the year 1947. Being a hockey player himself, Dina Nath Mehta played the game more against the hockey wizard Dhyan Chand because they belonged to two different Army teams. The love of the game was so much that he made his younger son shift to Jalandhar, the nucleus of sporting goods industry, in India, in the year 1972, to manufacture hockey sticks under the brand name of The Indian Maharadja. The factory built in three quarters of an acre is the place where hockey sticks and hockey equipments are manufactured. The third generation of the family took charge of the factory in the year 2003 and under the able stewardship of Ashwin Mehta, the company now markets Maharadja, Mercian and Atlas wooden and composite range.

Hockey goal keeper kits are now available in super lite models. Hollow (without core) hockey balls are marketed in dimple and smooth qualities and in four colors (white, orange, pink and yellow). The factory also manufactures sports garments specializing in the game of hockey. The factory also specializes in manufacturing kits not only for players but for officials as well. A new stick ring has been developed for the hockey umpires. This is the 3-in-1 product with a bend guage. Confirming to the FIH regulations with a 25mm bend and 4.5 cm hook, besides a 51 mm diameter ring.
