The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Cycling Federation of India (CFI) and the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council marks a significant milestone in the development of cycling within the Union Territory. This agreement heralds the inauguration of Jammu’s first-ever Cyclothon, as well as the region’s inaugural CFI National Ranking Event, scheduled for May.
The event will bring together India’s finest male and female cyclists to compete for podium positions in what promises to be a prestigious national-level competition. It represents another important chapter in the steady expansion of cycling’s footprint across the country.
The MOU was formally signed at the office of the Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. Representing the Cycling Federation of India was Maninder Pal Singh, Secretary General of the CFI. On behalf of the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, the signatory was Ms Nuzhat Gul, Secretary of the JKSC, Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
The ceremony was attended by S. Ravinder Singh, Chairman of the JK Cycling Association, Om Prakash Sharma, Secretary, S. S. S. Gill, Member, along with other officials and members from both the JK Cycling Association and the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council.
This landmark collaboration is expected to elevate the standard of competitive cycling in Jammu and Kashmir while providing a platform for local talent to engage with the national cycling community.

On behalf of the entire Cycling Association of Jammu and Kashmir, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. His untimely passing away is a great loss to the sports fraternity of Jammu and Kashmir. His contribution, dedication, and service towards the promotion of sports will always be remembered.
We pray to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength, courage, and solace to the family members to bear this irreparable loss.

Budgam’s Jahangir Ahmad Wins Gold at SGFI Nationals
Budgam, Jan 2026:
Jahangir Ahmad of District Budgam won the Gold Medal in Under-19 Boys Cycling at the SGFI National Games held in Ranchi, bringing pride to Budgam and Jammu & Kashmir.
The Cycling Association of Jammu and Kashmir, congratulated Jahangir and Officials said the achievement will inspire young athletes and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting sports at the grassroots level.

Cycling Association of Jammu & Kashmir Selects Cyclists for National Track Cycling Championship 2025
Jammu, December 2025:The Cycling Association of Jammu & Kashmir (CAJK) is pleased to announce the selection of two cyclists to represent Jammu & Kashmir in the 77th Senior, 54th Junior and 40th Sub-Junior National Track Cycling Championships, scheduled to be held from 19th to 23rd December 2025 at Rudrapur, Uttarakhand.
The selected cyclists are:
Bilal Ahmed Dar – Senior Category
Arfat Bashir – Junior (Men) Category
The selection and screening trials were conducted at MA Stadium, Jammu, under the supervision of Sh. S. Iqbal Singh, District Sports Officer (DSO), Jammu, J&K Sports Council. The trials were supported by Sh. Anil Wadera, Manager, MA Stadium, Jammu, and Sh. Joginder Kumar, Cameraman, J&K Sports Council.
The selection process was carried out in the presence of senior office bearers of the Cycling Association of Jammu & Kashmir, including Sh. Om Parkash Sharma, General Secretary (CAJK), Sh. Tajinder Singh, Treasurer (CAJK), and Sh. S. S. Gill, Chief Coordinator (CAJK).
The Cycling Association of Jammu & Kashmir remains committed to the promotion of cycling in the Union Territory and to providing opportunities for talented cyclists to compete at the national level. CAJK extends its best wishes to the selected cyclists for a successful and medal-winning performance at the National Track Cycling Championships.

Cycling Association of Jammu & Kashmir Conducts Screening for J&K Team for 29th National Road Cycling Championship, Odisha
Jammu, (27/11/2025)— The Cycling Association of Jammu and Kashmir successfully conducted the official screening at M.A Stadium Jammu for the selection of cyclists who will represent the Union Territory in the 30th National Road Cycling Championship, scheduled to be held in Odisha from 2nd to 6th December 2025.
The screening was conducted in the presence of:

5th UT MTB Cycling Championship Concludes Successfully at M.A Stadium Jammu
The Cycling Association of Jammu & Kashmir successfully conducted the 5th UT MTB Cycling Championship at M.A Stadium Jammu. More than 60 cyclists from across the Union Territory participated with great enthusiasm and competitive spirit.
The championship witnessed impressive performances in various categories. The results are as follows:

Dr Vikesh Kumar, Commissioner CFI, emphasized the importance of systematic and scientific training, focusing on the role of biomechanics, kinanthropometry, and proper sports nutrition in achieving peak athletic performance.
The championship concluded with prize distribution and appreciation for the efforts of coaches, technical officials, and volunteers who ensured the smooth conduct of the event.
