Visit of Honโ€™ble Minister of Sports (Independent Charge), Department of Youth Services and Sports to Bengal Archery Academy.

The Honโ€™ble Minister of Sports (Independent Charge), Department of Youth Services and Sports, Dr. Indranil Khan , along with the Local MLA and Senior Government Officials, visited the Bengal Archery Academy on 10th July, 2026.

During the visit, detailed discussions were held regarding the overall development of archery across the state. Key areas of focus included infrastructure upgradation, talent identification, quality coaching, and strengthening athlete support systems at both district and grassroots levels.

The delegation also reviewed the ongoing preparations and deliberated on the roadmap for upcoming international events, including the Asia Cup, World Cup, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and the Olympic Games. Special emphasis was laid on providing structured training, adequate exposure, and international-standard facilities to enable state archers to excel on national and international platforms.

The visit reaffirmed the Governmentโ€™s commitment to promote archery as a priority sport in the state.

๐Ÿฅ‡ Multiple Medal performances at the International Competitions (Aisa Cup, World Youth etc) National Games, Junior National Championships, State Games, National and School Games, and CBSE Far East Zone Competitions.

*Juyel Sarkar represented India in the Asia Cup Stage I and Stage II and World Youth Archery Championships.

*Silver Medal in Men's Team Events at the Asia Cup World Ranking Tournament Stage I and Asia Cup Stage II.

*Consistent Top-15 finishes in international individual scoring round.

*Juyel Sarkar bagged Gold in Individual and Silver Medal in Recurve Mixed Team Event whereas Anjali Kumari grabbed Bronze Medal in Recurve Women Team during 44th Junior National Archery Championship, 2024-2025 held at Bolpur.

*20 archers qualified for Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior National Championships for the year 2025 -2026 (9 Archers in Sub Junior National, 6 Archers in Junior National and 5 Archers in Senior Nationals).

*Whereas Juyel Sarkar finished with Bronze Medal in Junior National held at Raipur.

*During 4th NRAT Anjali Kumari at finished at 8th Rank in Sub Junior, Recurve and Sazia Quarishi finished at 6th Rank in Compound Sub Junior age category.

*While in 3rd NRAT 2025 - 2026 Juyel Sarkar stood in 5th Rank in individual scoring.

*39 Archers participated in 46th State Archery Championship organized by West Bengal Archers Association.

* Academy archers secured 17 medals at the 46th State Archery Championship, including 5 Gold, 7 Silver, and 5 Bronze medals.

*Poulami Bonu bagged two gold medal in CBSE Far East Zone Archery Competition.
