Last Sunday we had conducted an Open EPGA Tournament over 18 holes across 4 categories (Above 60, Below 60, Teenagers & Kids below 12).

5 Golfers among 10 Athletes under TOPs is definitely one of the biggest news for us - what an incredible start to 2022 !!!

Five Golfers Including Aditi Ashok Among 10 More Athletes Added To TOPS | Other Sports News Golfer Aditi Ashok has been added to the Government's Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS).

As part of our 2021/22 Tournament Calendar, Yesterday we had conducted our ‘EPGA 18 Hole Tournament – this was a Members only event’. Inspite of the fluctuating weather conditions over the last 36 hrs in Kolkata, We had 26 golfers competing whole heartedly in the right sportsman spirit & they didn’t disappoint us with a photo finish - wherein 3 Golfers were tied at the top after the front 9 play. Due to heavy rains thereafter we had to stop & suspend our Back 9 play – But Kudos to all our Participating Members and as Mr. Sen put it they were our true ‘Jawad Warriors’ for the day.

On the basis of our front 9 play, happy to share our winners list:-

- *Gen AK Pal* (Best Gross Score Winner).
- *Air Cmde. Dipak Kumar Lahiry *(Best Net Score Winner).

Many Congratulations & best wishes to both of them, for many more golfing laurels in the future.

Also Many Thanks to our Chief guest *Mr. Debashis Sen* (MD - HIDCO) for handing out the prizes and to other officials of HIDCO (Mr. Suman Neogy, Mr. Atanu Palodhi) for their continuous support.

Lastly many thanks to our team of Grounds staff + club de golf F&B staff + our trainers / Marshalls for making the tournament a big success. A big salute to our Greens Supervisor & his team of Ground staff – whose relentless efforts prior & on the day of the tournament made the event possible.

Not to mention we also had some fun at the Club House, Apart from a Lavish Breakfast Buffet spread by our club de golf F&B staff - we also had a fret work & art on display by one our Member Mr. Udaya Lokre. An open interactive session was also conducted amongst the Junior & Senior Members / Patrons during the closing stages of the event.

Glad to announce that we have kicked off our Season with a "Skills Competition" held last Sunday, 21st Nov 2021.

We had more than 20+ participants across Junior, Beginners & Open categories of Chipping & Putting over 2/3 rounds of play during the day.

List of Winners across categories were :-

1. *Junior* :- Ms.Petra Law (1st) & Ms. Nahida Parvin (2nd).
2. *Beginners/ trainee *:- Mr. Shresh Agarwal (1st) & Mr. Varun Jhajharia(2nd).
3. *Members / advance trainee / Open *:- Mr. Abhishek Saraogi (1st).

On a lighter note, What added to the excitement was a very popular & well known Gentleman dressed up as 'Payne Stewart look alike' wondering he should acknowledge being a Scotsman or an American.

Many Congratulations to Mr. Ashesh Biswas for his maiden 'Hole in One' today at EPGA on Hole No. 8 (approx. 140 yards to the pin), which is considered to be the most difficult green to play, due to the limited space b/w the pin & the waterbody in front. He now becomes the 7th player to be inducted into the 'Exclusive EPGA Hole in One' list.

He has been able to achieve this rare feet due to his sheer commitment, determination & perseverance towards the game. Infact he was one of our earliest training members from 2017 batch to have undergone the entire process of beginners / advance training to be course ready & tournament ready thereafter. Even after all these years, Nowadays more often then not you would find him to be one of the 1st golfers to tee off early morning.
